Why is there no auction house in POE?
Tbh i don't care action house or not since i play mainly ssf.
but doesn't it makes sense trading should be easy as in a action house in trade league? mean it's trade league for a reason right? this way i bet a lot more players would switch between ssf or trade. and people decide to play both i think because one league to test and have fun if the ssf part get's too slow or just want to feel op? "Now all that's left is for you getting on your knees."
if you know thanks me:) i'm dying to find out x'D
" This is exactly how it works now only with a bunch of hassle added on so only those who don't absolutely hate the trade system benefit from it. There is no reason that they can't create some sort of limited auction house. Even something as simple as you can only put up one item at a time heavily limits it. Creating a dropped currency you need in order to trade limits it. Adding a large price sink for trades so you don't do it for every little item limits it. The current system is simply awful, antiquated and a huge weakness of the game. I actually got 2 friends to try the game and when they saw the way trade works their response was just, thats embarrassing. Because it is, it is an embarrassment to the game that this is how trade works.
" GGG has never wanted and auction house and will never have as auction house in PoE for this one simple reason: If trading was AH easy then the chasing of items to complete a build and get to level 90+ (or at least into maps) would become just a matter of farming currency and buying the item (for most, obviously some one has to grind enough to get the item to sell). The carrot chasing and thus the time spent playing PoE to get to maps and higher endgame (level 90 achievement) would be reduced. You see, the longer you have to play PoE to get a chase item to make your next near perfect build, the more you are going into towns and seeing other exiles blinged out, the more chance GGG has of getting you interested in buying mtx as in "I really like the look of that exile". GGG also wants us to be playing PoE for years (not just a few months) and with an AH the time spent chasing/grinding for top game items would be significantly reduced and thus players would stop playing sooner. That is never what GGG wants so an AH is completely out and more talk about "why no AH" is just wasted verbiage. So the only talking point about PoE trading is to discuss how to make the current trade-chat trading function more convenient (better) to use to trade but not "too easy" (see my previous post a few back for the answer). "You've got to grind, grind, grind at that grindstone..." Necessity may be the mother of invention, but poor QoP in PoE is the father of frustration. "i know that but when people get bored because they could have any item in no time more reason to play ssf is what i think but yeah know everything u just said though. so kinda a waste xd "Now all that's left is for you getting on your knees."
if you know thanks me:) i'm dying to find out x'D
" Apparently it's not obvious "why no AH?" as these threads keep popping up every month. Not everyone is of the Diablo III expansion (RoS) mindset and want everything to be self-found. "You've got to grind, grind, grind at that grindstone..."

"yeah by people who barely use the forums or are new asf i think :P think most long time players know why they won't want a ah:P "Now all that's left is for you getting on your knees."

" That is hardly an indicator. You know there is growing flat Earth movement? That is not even mentioning anti-vaxers. So lack of super common sense is not even uncommon. |

" This assumes you have a set amount of characters you play each league, and as soon as you are done with that amount, you stop playing. It seems as or more valid to assume people who play PoE as a hobby have X amount of time spent playing the game. If they gear one character faster, they are more likely to just try a different build than suddenly quit.
" How is that any different than what people do anyway? Everyone keeps describing the current system and then saying an AH would make it easier... Well yes. That's the point. " And that won't change. People would still ask for the currency they want usually Chaos or EX. Right? Complicated currency is just complicated. Standardized currency isn't bad it's just convenient, weather it be gold, or Chaos orbs or Stones of Jordan. Last edited by LennyGhoul on Jan 10, 2020, 2:21:50 PM

" And that is exactly my point. It's in GGG's manifesto somewhere where they say they don't want trading to be too easy. If GGG is officially on record with this view about trading for gear then it's clear that an AH in PoE will never happen and it's just a waste of text to keep bringing the subject up every month or so. Quit trying to beat on a dead horse and discuss how GGG can best improve trade-chat. I just did a few posts back. Edit: Here it is, read it for yourself, especially "Consequences of Easy Trade": Trade Manifesto "You've got to grind, grind, grind at that grindstone..."
