If you have an elder vaal regalia, make sure you get a 6L one and ideally iLVL 85+. You're going to craft by solely alteration spamming.

Spam until:

a) Hit T1 Life with no other affixes
Augment

If you get crit chance to attacks then regal, if you get anything else start over
Regal

If you get something you want then multimod and craft 10% Gained as extra ES and whatever else you want, if you don't get something good try and annul it off then multimod

If you annul off the T1 life OR crit chance to attacks start over



b) Hit 1-1.5 chance to crit with attacks with any other affixes
Augment/Regal

If you want to risk it then augment first then regal, if you don't then just regal. If you get good other affixes then multimod, if you get bad affixes try and annul them off then multimod

If you annul crit chance to attacks start over

Technically it is because you miss out on Pandemonius penetration or Yoke dmg taken while affected by X# ailments.

HoI only gives about 7% more DMG while both of these amulets greatly exceed that amount.

The only situation where it would be better is: If you are doing a C2F + Pyre conversion setup and running a Herald of Ash. That being said, one can easily fit extra auras into the build by using a reduced reservation shield or getting the helmet corrupt with 90% mana multiplier. Additionally the tree is constructed in such a way where one has easy access to the Templar Aura wheel to provide more reservation reduction to fit in (up to) an extra 35% aura on top of the Zealotry and Hatred.

I've found a problem. How do we compute deduction of damage when Aps goes beyond 7.5?

Since I have noticed a good amount of damage loss when going over 7.5 (even with CSR)

It's complicated and not worth explaining, I think just knowing that going over 7.5 is enough. If you really want to calculate it just simulate by calculating how many procs you will make in a common multiple of your APS and the cooldown of the skill.

This is something I'm interested in as well. I've been using the Zealotry Aul's for a while and I really like it compared to the Pandemonius. As far as I can tell, combined with the right gear and auras it 'should' sim higher than the Pandemonius but I've probably simmed the cold penetration incorrectly for my setup.

I switched away from running the HoI/Hatred/Zealotry combo though because you do miss the defensive benefits that the Pandemonius provides. Besides, when you're running Guardians and Uber Elder over and over the build has more than enough damage to shred through all the content the game can throw at you anyway.


You can run Hatred/HoI/Zealotry using a reduced reservation shaped shield or a 90% multiplier hat with a bit of tree changing.

Personally I don't think the Ice Nova helm enchant is worth it (it's like 3% to your overall DPS maybe less). I would go for something utility like reduced reservation on your 50% auras or always chill for X%. As far as your boots, you could get penetration if you haven't killed recently or leech if you have killed recently. Gloves don't really matter.

Quick question: You said

"Make sure that you use Elemental Focus in at most ONE of your CoC setups. Vortex chill area can sometimes have inconsistent uptime on bosses and you want the target to always be chilled for Ice Nova to get its full damage."

Doesn't having Elemental Focus, remove the chill ailment?
1) For Glorious Vanity, buy #5797 for best results? First time buying one of these, really confused.

2) my current aps is 5.95, with 3 frenzy charges will be 5.95*(3*0.05)=6.8425 is this correct? then if i add Coordination passive will be 6.8425*1.12=7.6636 which is over the recommended 7.5 with 1.4cdr. Are my numbers correct?

No, it prevents you from inflicting it with supported skills... hence why you only use it in one setup, so your other one inflicts chill.

Use PoB to calculate your APS there's no point in doing it by hand and opening yourself up to calculation errors. Also that's not how APS calculation works it aggregates all your increases first, then multiplies your base APS by that number. So it would be more like BASE APS * SKILL MODIFIER * INCREASES (this is where coordination and frenzy gets added with whatever other increased attack speed) * MORE = APS
