Oh, right. Missed that fact, even though it was pretty obvious.
For some reason i remember VP demerit as "no regen whatsoever", because ES regen comes from the life regen most of the time :)

This is the best Occultist tree I could come up with. I imported the gear from Kelvynn's character because I wanted to check just how much of a change going to Occultist would be. The thing that really sucks about this are the 3 wasted passives around the Scion evasion wheel but it's the absolute shortest way to get to Vaal Pact. Ended up with around 100 int less, so not too bad for the added tankiness. Gonna be even less once we take one ring off to replace it with Malachai's Artifice but having perma EE should more than make up for that.

I think that duration nodes is must have.
They always were, but now it also vastly improve winter orb too, so now it's even more so.
Also, as a matter of fact, i think there is a fair point to consider take 2 +10 int nodes, instead of ES increase nodes at the start of witch tree.
Not only because as occ we are starved for additional int, but also because we are really really starved for skill points in general.

Also, get rid of elemental focus in staff.
There would be no point in going cold version, if we can't chill and freeze stuff.

I also think that we can safely get rid of spell cascade now that we have winter orb.
Any trash will be done with winter orb anyway, and if something survived winter orb, it will be more efficient to attack it with single target setup.

Ok, point taken. Still, Occultist looks pretty decent right now. Hopefully, EE makes up for what we lose in INT compared to Ascendant. All in all, the build looks pretty exciting to me, can't wait for tomorrow.

It's such a shame that frigid wake only have cold dot multiplier... just why can't it be cold damage in general?

They probably went for dots because that fits the theme of Occultist.
