In 1984, the Lower Party would partake daily in the Two Minutes Hate, wherein they would be whipped into a fervor by propaganda images and soundbites of their hated nemesis, Emmanuel Goldstein, for 120 seconds.

Today we've got that shit 24/7 on your choice of multiple channels... and if there's a TV on in a public place, it's probably on either The Hate, sports, or kids cartoons.

Q was invented as a way to justify the criminal actions of Trump. The cult needs a way to not see themselves as worshiping a fraud, so a new, always changing story has been created.
I thought Q was just self-masturbatory larping in a pro-Trump way.

Basically the photo negative of the self-masturbatory larping of most of the media, what with all the "tick tock" and "surely this is the end of the presidency!!!1" for the last 2 years straight.

People gotta do something to pass the time until literally anything significant actually happens.

Highlighted the word that makes any and all comparisons of our current media's proclivity for side-taking to the Two Minute Hate invalid. YW.
It's already at the point that there are some Burger Kings I can't go to without having it on in the dining room. I could choose to self-exile myself by going to-go, self-censor myself as I dine in, or I could die on the hill of asking them to switch the channel to something else. How is that really a choice?

Orwell would have fucking despised Trump and hated that people didn't heed his allegorical warning at all, and you damn well know it.
You've developed this penchant for mind reading dead celebrities. Bad habit, that. Truth is you don't know what he'd think or say, you just have your theory in your head, your guess, which is itself thinly veiled fantasy.

I know Orwell was sympathetic to socialism, so I would also guess he'd be on the left. But I can only wonder at whether he'd have criticism for what "his side" was doing, or not. I'd hope he'd speak out, but I've been disappointed before.

Tsk tsk tsk.

You'll never be any good at memeing as long as you cling to a grand unification theory. From Wikipedia:
"
Humor is evoked when a trigger at the end of the joke, the punch line, causes the audience to abruptly shift its understanding from the primary (or more obvious) script to the secondary, opposing script.
This isn't possible if one rigidly makes all things conform to a single, simple, well-known script, i.e. evaluating everything according to the "bigoted ←→ inclusive" spectrum. I mean, look at that first meme of yours — the only shift it presents is "these are old, this is CURRENT YEAR" which isn't much shift at all — the little humor it has depends on the somewhat immature view that current times are distinctly different from older times. Stop trying to be funny, because as a white knight for intersectionality it is your place to be as humorless as you are dogmatic.

Orwell would say Stalin and Mao are fake communists. True communists would have detest solidifying personal power and formation of a totalitarian bureaucratic caste. They distorted Marxism both in theory and in practice for their needs. Russia has never shake off its bourgeoisie class, it is false awakening into another terrifying nightmare.

He was a socialist who literally wrote the book criticizing Stalinism. So does that mean he'd play along with the Democrat establishment, or attack Hilary and Russiagate a la Jimmy Dore? Or possibly even do a Bernout-to-MAGA transformation a la H A Goodman? I don't know, you don't know, and we'll never know.

I've read Animal Farm and 1984. Why're you acting as if I've missed something?
