ALL HAIL PRESIDENT TRUMP

So Mattis was apparently the only adult left in the Trump administration, and he quit in an unprecedented way. A resignation letter without salutations, released by the Pentagon and not the White House.

WHat is going to happen now? THe children are loose!

How incompetent and corrupt can a US administration in 2018 get? Soon to be 2019...

Soon time for this charade to end, and the US can come back to honouring its commitments...

You implied they won. Of course you'd move goalposts again. Also I can't imagine them celebrating much when they barely exist.

Sure sure. Like Trump said. You guys beat ISIS. You won.

Less than a day later he retracted that lol ;)

The situation in Syria has been frozen for at least half a year now. Not much is going on. ISIS doesn't exist anymore as an organisation able to conduct offensives. The US is there illegaly. This is the right time to go home.
So is Russia, Turkey, Iran and a dozen more parties in the so called 'civil war'.

Why should only the US pull out? Why let Russia and others win and leave the opposition forces to be slaughtered?

What's in it for you to constantly argue the side of a pro-Russia argument?

It's a civil / proxy war. One of the most complex conflicts in history.

The US should pull out because they've lost. They have no diplomatic or legal standing. The other big external players in this conflict - Russia, Iran & turkey, have diplomatic meetings on their own and ignore the US. The legitimate Syrian government doesn't want the US to be there, but they want Russia.

The pro-Saudi "opposition forces" have lost too. There won't be a regime change, sorry. That's the situation on the ground.

I argue on the side of being anti-war & anti-islamist. What is in for YOU, that you want so badly help pro-Saudi medieval islamists to take over a secular & modern Arab country?

This is a false description of some of the people Turkey wants to genocide.

USA allies in north Syria have carved a territory where they actually have freedom of religion, and muslims, Christians, Yazidis and more can all worship without fear.

That's the people Turkey wants to genocide, not exclusively kurds.

Yes, how dare the people want something other than an oppressive dictatorship? Silly people!

Realistically, it's a total mess, with the EU suffering as well due to a refugee crisis. At least we are taking in refugees, unlike some other countries I know.

But it's the way US quit the war. As a very crude analogy, it's like having people sent off on a red card or a penalty during the game. Suddenly what used to be a game of 10v10 is now 2v10. Except the penalty for defeat is a likely death.

Negotiate some truce; allow allies sometime to re-gather and strategise. Instead of doing a 'But Putin said he wanted US troops out!'

Imagine being so anti-Trump that you tell yourself that ISIS won, just so Trump can be a loser in your mind. TDS is a hell of a drug.
GGG banning all political discussion shortly after getting acquired by China is a weird coincidence.

Actually Trump took a call from Erdogan, who requested Trump remove the 2000 troops, and Erdogan just tells Trump theyre terrorists, and told Trump it's ok to genocide terrorists; and Trump said ok, done.

Wonder what "deal" got done in return for genocide?

What actually happened is, the Kurds were the only reason left for US soldiers to stay in Syria, since ISIS is kill and regime change was never the goal for the US. Trump always wanted to pull soldiers out of the middle east, he campaigned on that shit. Looks like the Kurds weren't a good enough reason for Trump to keep soldiers in Syria. Makes sense to me. Also stop calling it genocide. The Kurds are fucked and I have empathy for them but they don't have their own country and some of the more militant Kurds are literally terrorists. The US already has Israel to take care of, they don't need a Kurdistan on top of that.

You want the slaughter to continue, so that Russia won't get a 'win'? But Trump is the 'childish' one... -_-

I guess that Russia already got a win. Before the western-sponsored insurgency they had only a small naval refuelling station in Syria. Now they have a firm foothold, with one naval base, one military air base and modern anti-air coverage of half the country. For the next 50 years.

Spasibo Obama!

Syrians had freedom of religion before that, under Assad. Syria aready was multi-ethnic, multi-cultural and multi-religious. The so called "rebels" are mono-religious sunni islamists. The US/EU were basically helping Syria turn into a Saudi-influenced theocracy. (so liberal, very democratic!)

And your "allies" in the north aren't innocent at all. The Kurds have been cleaning Arab villages and taking over land that is not theirs. Don't expect this to last. They will be forced back exactly as Kurds in Iraq were. The Syrian government will not tolerate Kurdish expansion, so it's not like Turkey is the only factor here.

'TDS this'
'TDS that'

Imagine being so defeated you have to resort to a made-up mental illness/condition from the depths of the sewer that is 4chan, to attribute to people who talk about politics.

Sad!

It's an easy way to dismiss them though, instead of arguing their legitimate points...
