Energy Shield and Life

Oh no,
ES users will now actually have to dodge stuff like life ppl instead of facerolling all content ?
The humanity !

Also Kaom's was 60% of an ES chest and you get a no socket penalty.

Nerf politic by GGG stupid as fuck.
GGG not nerf, just destroy.

I remember when pizzablast was opieop and what GGG do? Ruined it. One year later, they realized that they just killed the skill and make some changes. Chris, you don't want to hire new employees?

Why a lowlife character should be allow to have MORE ES then a PURE life base and ASLO get 30 MORE Spell damage?

Because ES has inherent cons that life doesn't?
What is the point of ES if life is just higher than it? For anything that isn't an aura bot the pure life would just be an obvious choice 100% of the time.
Great changes GGG long time coming! Now all these es noob players have to get good and play some real builds. Anyone could face roll content with 10-20k es pools I've seen many supposed "good players" get scraped alot playin life chars but when they play 10k es+ they never die. All es did before was make garbage players look good personally I have 18 or 19 x 100 characters that was done all on life builds plus doin all content with non meta builds it wasn't even hard.

WTB Map drops since 2013

Ok...

After seeing everybody on this thread freak out, I am in two minds about this.

1. The nerf was needed to ES. The real big numbers did make encounters incredibly easy and life always suffered as a result.

2. Yet not many actually achieved these big numbers. My concern is for the players like me who try to play the game for fun and do not actually amass that much ES. It works well at the moment but how badly will people like me get hit from nerfs like these?

Not everyone is rich and can afford that super op gear.

Adjustments to the changes:
Moderate the vaal pact nerf to a 50% effect on ES.
Buff life.
Nerf monster damage and create more interesting mechanics.

The last point is what makes boss encounters fun and interesting. Simply stacking more damage on does not solve the problem and is lazy game design.

My understanding is that it will be harder to stack ES to such high degree, but will be still possible to maintain rather sizeable ES pool.
But yeah, monster damage needs adjustments, and hopefully there is upcoming manifesto addressing it.

Hello,

I dont understand the current decision, Energy Shield so hard to nerve that it becomes unplayable.
Why the life is not buffed ??
Currently, well equiped players have 10-14k ES. This is also needed since otherwise many encounters oneshot the player. The Player had no Armor, Evasion. Its pure EnergyShield.
A player with 10k es (average gear) hat 6,5k ES with the 35% and that without instant leech.
The ppl will do higher maps as tier 11-12. All other will oneshot you.

No 5% of the players reach your 25k EnergyShield (without groupsupport --> Aurabot)
10-14k is normal and that requires long grind.

Currently, many players are playing PoE but now you are going towards Blizzard's decision. Make it unplayable or total casual like.

Spend your time to the mass of players and not after a few exceptions.

Many players invest a lot of time in the game and have, of course, also better equip.
You are punished in the moment players who do not have the time or experience, or the luck for drops.

The game should not be easier. At the moment you steal the people the fun. You balance no more. You only DESTROY it.

I hope that poe does not end like diablo 3

Actually, standing AFK with your 25000 ES and destroying everything in the game without even having to move apart from when you collect your items is more "D3-Like" than anything in this game. So yeah, if you loved that so much, just go to Diablo3, no ones going to miss you here.
