Energy Shield and Life

I am really loving the changes. It was appropriate and will make the game more enjoyable.

The only thing missing that I was hoping to see were comments about rebalancing mob damage in the end game. One of the main reasons people played ES builds was to survive crazy high elemental damage from volatiles and bosses.

Will we get an update on monster balance?
I have a better idea: abandon changes and move vaal pact closer to the STR area. Or get rid of reflect.
Look i play life based characters (mostly an srs life +3 witch, and berserker crit staff) but you basically ruined the game for about 60% of your players, and you made spell crit builds no longer viable(life based are only good if elementalist because to many nodes go to increasing life meaning no room for crit nodes or extra life nodes) and now end game content is basically unclearable as it was only possible with es to begin with. Cast on crit builds or whatever remains will be even less viable. Low life is no longer possible and it was only beneficial because vaal pact kept you alive. Low life has no benefit to life builds because hey "low life". This was a big mistake the only build i can currently think of that will clear end game safely now is the fb totem build, and that is risky sometimes. You just made whispering ice not viable so just delete it please. Shavs is still decent for summoners, but they will feel like glass cannons because less survivability yet changinging 100 increased to 100 more on montregaull. I honestly dont understand your thinking. You are limiting your game severely. Hybrid is a joke btw its not usefull just like a hybrid car, go full battery or full gas like honestly. You are going to have to revert the changes or you wont have much support

Reflect doesn't exist for me. I white sext it out every 3 maps while leveling. Spendy but F reflect.

I wish reflect was either A. More noticable and distinguishable from the mess of everyone's mtxs,HH,etc. Or B. Reflected way less damage. Either way ref and bearers have a special place on my punching bag.

Thanks for clearing that up. Tired and my brain was not making sense of it. Now the decisions come. Sell my min maxed gear and roll life(mandatory kaoms) and have to use weapon swap constantly for single target(bow user) or keep es and roll with the punches...


Personally, i would sell. ES gear will currently still fetch a high price. After this goes live it won't be worth nearly as much because the min/max values will be closer together making perfect rolls more accessible thus dropping the value. Not to mention that ES will require very niche builds after this. With how much ES we are losing Shaper is going to one shot most people that were "geared" before this. I would suggest rolling for min/max Barrage and Tornado Shot after selling the gear just to make easy clears.

So what you are saying that doing the hardest boss in the game in a solo self found league is actually not trivial if youre going for ES?

Can someone clarify if this means that ghost reaver will no longer apply leech to energy shield but instead ghost reaver will give recharge rate? How the F are we to leech if this is true as CI?

If you take Ghost Reaver you leech ES instead of life just like before but with a penalty.

-the penalty is that they will be adding a multiplier: Less Energy Shield Recharge Rate by % amount if you take this node
-the other drawback is that Ghost Reaver can no longer be taken with Vaal Pact for instant leech ...so you need to invest in Leech Rate nodes

Thankfully I'm a standard warrior with leg vinktars so that isn't as much of an issue as it first appeared. One thing that sucks is if I go life, I'll have to get my barrage enchant again. Wasn't cheap on tri res 430+ es helm...

That's just dumb. Right now hybrid ES gear is not really an option (except for colors) because the ES is too low. Apparently it's going to be even lower now, well freaking done.

The ES needs to be closer to the pure ES gear: almost no amount of armor/evasion can compensate for a significant loss of effective HP, especially with how poopy armor is in this game.

The only reason I ever got an ES/eva shield is because they're relatively cheap compared to high end pure ES shields, on a CI ranger that get lots of eva % without really trying. When you look at rolls without price in mind, there is no comparison.

It's a shame that you can't get the hybrid stuff right, it would open up so many build options.
