hey there

im leveling as TS right and want to switch to LA later on. Which ascendancy path do you suggest for LA ?

Furthermore in the trees the spirit void cluster and the lifeleech cluster nearby is not taken. Arent these mandatory for running bloodrage smoothly ?

Sry for stupid questions but there are still a few things unclear to me,

Deadeye and Pathfinder are both strong for LA. The extra +1 to chain interacts well with LA on Deadeye, and Far Shot is always strong. Pathfinder, Veteran Bowyer is also very strong with all the physical damage scaling, and you can either further boost elemental damage or increase the potency of your flasks.

Generally you want to stack regen to counteract Blood Rage. That said, the Dualist dual-leech tree is quite strong now that it leeches all damage instead of just physical. Personally, I just invest two points into the first LL node, and the dual leech node.

thx for your advice.
was just a bit confused, beacause in the first page it says that deadeye, ricochet isnt that good for LA ranger.

It's solid early on, but as your gear gets better, running the chain support gem will be enough on its own. Mobs will be dead before the 3rd chain added by Ricochet would even be necessary.

Pathfinder is probably the smartest choice for LA. Veteran Bowyer with 10% elemental penetration is a huge buff and isn't conditional, like Far Shot is with distance. It also converts 10% of physical to a random element, which is powerful since the build stacks so much physical damage as a base. If you're running LA / BR with PTL and WED, penetrating 10% of their resistance is incredibly strong.
Hello.

I'm newbie and i try to use your build but i have some questions.
But first i'll show my items.

I have 77 lvl and i choose Deadeye (have +1 chain now), my hp is something around 2,5k and i have some problems with survivability.

Hello. I am following the normal build for TS and I got a Drillneck recently. I saw the skill tree changes, but I was wanting to ask what other major changes are needed from the normal guide.

I have a 5L armor, nothing too high gear wise.

Is LowGear/SC/AnySkill - Chain Deadeye still he route to go? Will chain work ok with pierce?

Are there better secondary skill options when using drillneck?

Chain and Pierce do not work together. Unless things have changed, if you have 100% pierce you will never have the chain effect. According to the wiki, order of priority is Pierce > Fork > Chain > Return. If you have less than 100% pierce, failing to pierce would allow the chain effect to happen, but that is counter-intuitive to using Drillneck in the first place. +1 Chain is not a good tree to take with Drillneck.

What would be the preferred Ascendancy for Drillnecks? Seems like Onslaught Raider is better for offense. Would frenzy still be good for Drillneck & Onslaught Raider?

They are just more powerful then the alternatives.

"extra" and "more" modifiers are multiplicative. While many others are just additive.

so, 6linking TS. he recommends, TS-GMP-PPAD-PTL-WED-FA.

Slower proj is an option. Pierce or chain are also options. (icebite, hypothermia, litpen, innervate as well.. most of these not great. innervate for an avatar of chase over FA maybe.)
With drillneck, he does recommend, pierce over FA.

WED is very strong. probably too strong honestly, its better then the physical ones.
Your bow, if rare, very likely has some elemental damage on it innate. Flat elemental rolls on rings, quiver, etc possible as well. Then hatred, and possibly a herald. It is very easy to match or exceed your physical damage with elemental. so the more weapon elemental will give more dps then just about any other support, without even trying. They you can actually try, and add damage conversation, and things like Veteran bowyer in pathfinder.
neversinks guide doesn't mention it. just says ts-gmp-ppad-FA for 4 link. This depends on the roll of your bow. that is true for a physcial bow. but, if you say are level 40 with a 80-180phys, 1-130lit, 3-45fire bow, WED will be more then PPAD, or FA. level all 3, but use the one that matches your gear. we WANT phys bows, but leveling, you don't always get what you want.

Phys to lit is extra damage. so again a multiplier. Its going to scale with all your +phsy, then convert to lit, and scale off any elemental scaling you have. notably, WED. phsy to lit should not be used without WED, since none of us really will have any +lit % damage likely. you can get it on a ring or ammy.
I have dilemna. Should I switch to Phasing Raider or to Pathfinder? I have nice gear, lvl 88 and i need defense/utility. Can someone help me decide? I am using LA atm.
How does a pathfinder do to keep phasing up? Half of its benefits depends on phasing but I don't see any phasing enabler, is that accomplished only by flasks?
no more purchases or recommendations til the trade system is fixed.
About curses: why Assassin's Mark and not Projectile Weakness?

Assassin's Mark:
* 20% extra damage from crits
* 9% extra crit chance at lvl20
* a few "on kill" effects that are not too relevant since we'll probably be cursing bosses mainly.
* 98 int requirement, which is higher than anything else in the build and has to be supported by gear since there isn't enough int in the tree.

Proj weakness:
* 44% increased proj damage at lvl20 (which becomes 54% if the gem is 20/20)
* extra knockback, which has some defensive value, and pierce.

It seems to me that proj weakness wins all around. On top of that, it is green instead of blue, which means it is easier to swap for temporal chains if we want a more defensive curse.
Shower thought: no two rares are the same. So rares are unique, while uniques are not. On the other hand, uniques are rare, while rares are not.

Heh, your a little off.

In a nut shell: Power Charges

"A few on hit abilities" is totally off. We have no other way of gaining power charges unless you wanna run a weird unique, or can get through ascendancy.

Curse on Hit + Curse + Herald is a standard and expected necessity. Anyone will tell you that keeping 3 power charges up is easily achievable.

Now let's take another look...
- 150% increased critical strikes (3 power charges)
- 20% EXTRA damage from crits. Extra means it multiplies all of your critical strike damage (above 100%). 350% critical strike damage is about the minimum standard from gear and passives for most crit builds (although most will have more). With 350% multi it would add 70% bringing your total to 420% weed evryday.
- 9% EXTRA (okay you get the idea) crit chance. In this case it just stacks right on top of yours. So, if you have 45% chance to crit, against cursed enemies your chance will be 54%.

Basically I don't even have to outline proj weakness... We have many tools to get frenzy charge, and 44% increased is such a measly amount.

The difference here is between increased versus more. More (crit multi, greater crit chance) being the way better amount.

Proj weakness is for very very niche builds that need the extra pierce. It should be used under no other circumstances, especially since poacher's mark and elemental weakness are both better options.

For the Raider tree, why choose "chance for Phasing on kill" over "chance for Frenzy on kill". Frenzy duration and the extra attack speed from getting the frenzy talent seem like nice boons too. Without Avatar of Phasing, I'm not seeing the benefit in getting it.

Can anyone please weigh in.
