Fate of the Vaal as Core Path of Exile 2 Mechanic

i only hope building up your temple early on is easier/faster but harder and more aggressive destabilization the bigger it gets.

Thanks GGG. It was a fun mechanic, but got repetitive and boring very fast. See you later Snake Plissken.

It should be possible to replace pathways with any rooms now while placing rooms at console, if rooms can be downgraded into pathways.

I'm not a fan of mechanics that:
- Take me out of maps. - Force me to constantly look/check at the map. I wish core mechanics revolved around the mapping experience. Temporary leagues have space for separate areas or tedious methods, as they will one day fade, but not core. The current Vaal mechanic is very disengaging from the core reason/experience of mapping. https://www.ForeverExiled.com/: Forever Exiled, A Path of Exile Podcast

I dont know if anyone reads this, but maybe someone can correct me.
Half of the temple tiles arent accessable anymore, because you dont want to ruin your hard earned progress, looping it with another snake. You build a single 45 room "snake" reaching the architect and atziri, you fight the architect, 15-20 rooms are downgrading to paths. Next run you clear the royal access chamber and kill atziri and now the other 15-20 rooms will downgrade to paths. Within each Atziri kill, 60-70% of your temple will downgrade to paths? If you want to rebuild your temple, because it not longer has any effects, you have to activeley "kill" it, looping your single snake. So in order to "farm" Atziri and her uniques you can either go with a full pathway temple single snake build or rebuild it every other Atziri kill. |

Neat!
I actually enjoy Vaal temple and felt like I had to snake, so hopefully a more interesting strategy emerges out of this update. |

Great one guys! Ruin the fkn game! Was looking forward to the new season, deffo won’t be playing now. The temple mechanics didn’t need changing at all, other than maybe dropping more lock medallions. All you had to do was heavily reduce the drop rates of rare currency! The building process of the snake was the best part of POE. Now it’s back to boring mapping! Even with the changes you’ve made to end game, it still will be far too repetitive!
Also, for everyone that moaned about the temple. They only moaned because they didn’t have a temple of their own due to skill issues in not being able to build the snake. Those that did dedicate time and effort to the snake reaped its rewards, whilst all the lazy folk just threw their toys out of the pram and cried until you ruined the game with your updates. I honestly hope the majority of your players boycott this season, until you learn that you should be listening to the comments and feedback from the many, rather than the few! " Only rooms that cannot be deleated will turn into paths. The entire idea is NOT to snake. So if you make a path to aziri, fight her and loose half the rooms, you can either have a large temple that has bait rooms if you will, or you can have your entire single line to aziri turned into a path. As I understand it. |
