Content Update 3.28.0 — Path of Exile: Mirage

34 pages of comments have been written already and I cannot nor want to read or skim through so I apologize in advance.

I never write down anything cause usually I adapt pretty quickly to the changes and my builds follow my flexibility, however:

"Intelligence now inherently grants 1% increased Maximum Energy Shield per 10 Intelligence (previously per 5 Intelligence)."

This left me pretty confused, is energy shield really that dominant that deserves a nerf? I think the right question should have been: "why is life not as appealing as energy shield?"

Also armor is still pretty undeperforming when compared to Evasion rating (pls don't turn these posts into a monkey paw wish and nerf ER as well I am starting to struggle in the defense option department)


So, the interesting truth is in poe, the other three defences are terrible someway. Armour provides no phys red to large value hit, which is the most needed occasion; and it red 0% dmg of phys dot. Evasion is far more difficult to stack compared to armour, and provide no effect to all spells, which occupied approx 35% portion of enemies' skills. And ward only work for the first hit, with strict value limitation.

And generally speaking, for an endgame build, armour and evasion are more likely an offensive mod rather than defensive (due to dream feather and related phrecia ascendancy).

But I cannot agree with you more. It's not because ES is op, but the red life, other defences are designed so bad that we players have no choice but choose white life (ES) only.It's not a true way to nerf ES like this.

The Vivid Cat Bloodline Passive Skill now provides 50% increased effect of Marks while you have Elusive, instead of 50% increased Stealth while Elusive.


Why not change the small point the same way?
Its interesting that prices for all scarabs in standart plummeted after patch notes. People didnt see any viable strategy in 3.28. GGG eliminated all the endgame strats.

In a news thread about sound i asked "Why did it take multiple leagues to fix the sound on console?". Then got put on probation by Kane the sound guy...
I'm super hyped! Great patch! This seems as cool as 3.9 and 3.17. The dedicated team thing GGG has introduced seems to work really well.

Responses to common complaints:
- ES was OP, blue life still better than red life but not 2x better as before. they will watch this for a league and maybe buff life stuff, if really needed. (they have real data, we just express feelings...)
- CWS and Glad Block Ultimatum farmers got hit, but the build creators themselves already said, they are still viable, it's not that bad
- 5 of the top10 builds got triple tapped, that's called balance changes. try something new. "I did this for 3 years, now I can't" is not a good argument.
- waystone-ification of maps is a good thing, because it allows them to do cool stuff like the new astrolabe system. it's not at all like PoE 2, trust me, it's gonna feel really good. I'm not a big fan of PoE 2 after campaign, it's endgame feels horrible to me.

The trend GGG just nerf everything that feels good, instead of working on 80% of content atm feels garbage is a thing peeps critique GGG again and again, while bots/idiots keeps spamming "POG" "GREAT LEAGUE" etc. We are playing strong builds cuz it make us enjoy the game, instead of suffering with elementalist ci heavy striker. No one play this combo cuz it's garbage and not fun isn't that simple and clear? Same with loot, empty maps that offer nothing by itself past 1 week is just a bad joke. And that's exactly how nerf fiesta works. If everything feels bad and weak it's balanced yeah? xD keep pogging boys all good, cuz u don't care about poe, same as devs as I see

"Clarified some descriptions on Cluster Jewel Notables such as Purposeful Harbinger and Follow-Through to make it clearer that the caps are global. This is purely a descriptive change."

Should we assume that weak skills such as Cobra Lash are now destroyed (since obviously you didn't buff it to compensate) ?


I know you want us to play Wands, but still.. Can we get some clarification ?
Affliction, Necropolis and now Keepers are the worst leagues ever. Loot-shower fest, chase uniques too available, stacked decks and valdo boxes are a flawed design, and now the genesis tree handing out overpowered items hence invalidating several farms and crafting avenues.

My thought here. Please start to upgrade/evolve poe instead of degrade from league to league. If we have 50 strong builds that need to invest few mirrors on it each, we haven't time to even try em all, so leagues keeps alive to the end. Atm there no diversity, just few strong, few good, few mediocre builds. And the main problem introduced in keepers and now it's even more mandatory "is there any reason to invest in my build?". Keepers says no to this question, 150-200d char can clear everything farmable except heavy juiced blight, deleted from now on. So? T16 8 mod is enough of 20d char. No reason to progress further. Is that a pog? Don't think so
