we need aspirational endgame in 3.28 otherwise game is doomed
" Yeah and when they die, they shrug their shoulders and just go back in again and again until target is dead. When it's done in hardcore, you really feel like you've overcome something. " It's really not any of those things. Anyway, the point of my post isn't to bring up the debate of hardcore players > softcore players, but moreso to highlight that the people looking for some kind of difficulty in their endgame, who are playing softcore, would see the game through a different lens if they instead tried out hardcore. " that's why hc players usually do chill content. the only tryhard HC streamer is Ben. in necropolis he did a number of juicing strats and it was like... there is a twitch clip where Ben kills juiced meatsack with his COC chain DD for like 15 minutes. And still get no loot. That's because HC builds are supposed to be unkillable tin cans if you really want to invest and do some mapping. Bc if you die with mb/progenesis/other expensive but mandatory upgrades for aspirational content its GG for me personally, its just not interesting to farm for mb/prog and be killed by detonate dead rare/lags/immortal kulemak exile/stacked delirium debuffs+beyond rares from blight farm... it's not complicated, its frustrating and limits you. Also economy is bad on HC. also I know that pre-nerf sanctum was extremely popular on HC bc its impossible to die there if you know what you are doing and rewards are extremely lucrative. I mean poe is too badly balanced for HC anyways. HC is good in games like no rest for the wicked as there's 0 random deaths and you always fight vs. 1-2 mobs only. Poe is just different game. And poe requires hard, aspirational but rewarding content. Last edited by SoColdO_O#1989 on Feb 17, 2026, 12:31:02 PM

" This game would not exist without the HC community. This game was all about HC. The masses of sc andys came way later after several leagues. SC used to be what HC is now. Everybody and their brother used to play HC. |

" Hardcore has always had lower player numbers, which is precisely why the developers never truly balanced the game around it. It is such a niche mode that they stopped making Hardcore exclusive leagues years ago, and the core design philosophy has never revolved around it. While it has a dedicated audience, it is not the main attraction they prioritize outside of large race events, especially since few people want to watch competitions devolve into corpse rushing up the leaderboard. " extreme copium xddd poe would not exist without coronvirus lockdown which was followed by the most extreme endgame expansions like delirium, harvest, echoes of the atlas and then atlas tree. and with each league HC became more and more forgotten and less balanced. I guess when pinnacle endgame was dominus spamming HC was a thing. going away from crazy endgame stuff because of some "powercreep" (which is obviously non-existent in the way poe2ers who hate poe1 define it) is just ridiculous and gonna destroy the game. keepers was a catastrophe bc the whole point of this patch is to make game objectively WORSE. worse progression, worse endgame, worse build variety bc they nerf all the good performing builds to the ground. GGG must stop until its too late. they can test all "the vision" and wet dreams about HC/ruthless being core of this game in "poe" 2, leave poe1 for its audience |
