Maven fight easy, memory game too hard.
" What exactly is the fun in buying a carry, I don't get it? Uber Uber Elder is a super manageable fight that rewards good positioning and skillful dodging. I did that fight even on squishy characters that had far less DPS than what your "perfect" build has lol. At the end of the day you're right though. Some players just aren't good enough to beat high difficulty content. Good thing you can buy carries or you'd be stuck with no voidstones till end of league The opposite of knowledge is not illiteracy, but the illusion of knowledge.

" I'd like to build on it and add, that game shouldn't be balanced around low end 0.1%, that wouldn't be fun at all. Biggest compliments for my crafted items - "bs, they must have been RMT'ed"

You need to grind through it once. Best prepare several invitations and make sure you have a somewhat ok mindset and you are not on tilt already. As with all things repetition is key. You might fail the first 2-3 but you will ultimately get better, just make sure you don't go full re****, never go full re****, lol.
After that it is always good to have some invitations available in standard. At league start you can then just do a warm up round in standard before you do your 3rd voidstone in the new league. Some people might be talented and can handle the boss fight from the get go. I had to learn it the hard way. If you never try that, you will always be stuck when it comes to these fights. Be happy this is not poe 2. YOu have 6 portals and you can get additional invitations. Treat it like a training exercise where you will most likely fail a few times. 40 people used to wipe all the time in wow and tried again the next week. THere is nothing wrong with failing and trying again until you get better. And in sc you can always fail 2-3 memory games as long as you manage to not die to the other stuff. I am talking average league start build of course that will see some memory games. Having insane dps is the solution for everything of course especially in a game with 6 portals, lol. Maven fight is literally a stat check. Once you have the stats to not get blown up by random shit that she spams and have good regeneration source to refill after you take those hits you can concentrate on paying attention to the memory game. Yes the memory game is stupid. Then you need a decent chunk of dps so you can burst her and dont have to play multiple memory games during the final spinny laser stage. If you do fail a memory game - brush it off as the nonsense that it is. You do not lose exp on maven fight so the goal is not not dying to memory game, its not losing all 6 portals.
POE2 should be the ruthless vision experience and POE1 should be the zoom power fantasy sandbox to capture both audiences. I petition to return all the fun stuff that was removed or nerfed over the years back into POE1. Last edited by Bosscannon#3325 on Jan 3, 2026, 12:56:22 PM

maven fight isnt difficult unless you get the harvest bear bug.
Voidstones should be a wall that prevents you from pushing harder content until you can meet that challenge. No carries camp. solo only. Memory game is not hard. I swear most of you guys couldn't pass a basic concussion test to play high school sports. I couldn't even pass the test my kid had to take and i can do memory game just fine. Uber elder is just running arcs around shaper and killing adds fast. Exarch is the only difficult voidstone if you have crap dps. Just due to grate rng during ball phase. If you have trouble with eater you need to farm low red maps till you can out dps it. That boss is very easy Last edited by Lonnie455Rich#2087 on Jan 3, 2026, 1:48:07 PM

" TBH exarch rollyballs isnt even hard to deal with as long as you have 0 minions and dont leave any totems out. It kinda bothers me that the mechanic completely defeats minion builds as a minion main, but I do appreciate why the rollyballs got given a huge blast radius. Anyway, unrelated, guy who struggles hard AF with short term memory, definitely have verifiable memory-related disabilities here (spectrum, mild dyslexia, etc): Maven is honestly the most fairly designed boss fight in PoE1 right now. Everything she does is dangerous to someone, nothing she does shuts down any particular build more than others, and everything she does can comfortably be defeated by counterplay. If I can learn memory game with my horrible selective memory, you can too. I don't disagree that its a bit of a tacky mechanic though. |

" How many times have you killed exarch in hc? Sc has no relevance on difficulty of anything in the game. With 6 portals, all things are possible |
|
" Well clearly some things are too much of a hassle/too hard because people buy voidstone carries,t17 carries etc. every league lol Not everyone copy+pastes the meta build, nor can they if all the gear costs hundreds of divines because of the popularity of that build. |
|
" First of all, that has nothing to do with anything; the game is the same in HC and SC, the only difference is death consequence. Nothing else changes. Secondly, even if you want to ignore that the only thing HC does is make you play the game in easier ways, unless you are somehow completely unaware of logging out, most peoples standard procedure for exarch in both SC and HC is identical: log out for rollyballs, and wait them out with zone-in shield. The point I was making is you actually can learn to handle rollyballs, or even set up to tank them easily enough if you want; its just a much different prospect to do so with minions out. SC or HC has nothing to do with it. If you really wanted to flex your epeen about it, you should have asked about killing him on ruthless. That said though, I can see by your insisting to disagree with me on my post fundamentally agreeing with your original post that you are only here to fight, so I bid you good day. |

" Having 6 portals trivializes EVERYTHING. It has nothing to do with dying and losing char. |
