Maven fight easy, memory game too hard.

Honestly, the memory game could either be made easier to see the needed sequence, or it can be removed entirely. I prefer removed, just make her harder to kill.

Gating a voidstone behind this is completely wrong to the average player.
Most people can't help if they have memory problems. It's almost like a silent attack against those with disabilities.

I believe this makes things completely unfair and it really needs discussed for future changes.

If any of this post seems negative, I am sorry for that, but it is how many players feel, as far as what I read here on the forums.

Please, I beg of you, do take this seriously.
As always thank you for your time. Be well Exiles.

Yeah +1 its a pretty bad fight just because of that one mechanic. I just can't remember more than like 3-4 things in a row and even then sometimes I still mess it up. These kinds of Simon-Says minigames are just super hard for some people.

Its the only reason I don't farm that fight, the fear of getting looped by memory games, dying 5 times and losing the whole invitation. So I'm better off just selling the writ on Faustus lmao and it makes sense that people buy voidstone carries when doing the fight solo is so incredibly risky. Farming up a maven invitation takes a lot of time.
Nah. The Maven is a fair and well balanced encounter.

You claim to gap Uber Exarch in 3 seconds yet somehow Maven is clapping you hard enough to risk your invitation?

Oof.

No the memory game is fine. And throwing out that it somehow is an attack on people with disabilities is just....I cant even use the words or they will ban me.

And if you are struggling with the memory game the right side will always go up. It can never go left. So if it hits the right section it will always always always go up from there.

If you encounter the memory game more than five times and die to it just as often, it becomes fairly obvious that your damage output is extremely low. Likewise, if you are dying repeatedly to other mechanics, it is reasonable to conclude that you are simply not ready for the encounter yet.

No, players who buy a carry are not doing so because the encounter is inherently risky. They do it to bypass progression and justify clearing content their characters are not actually prepared to handle.

Farming Maven fights does not take a meaningful amount of time. Even in SSF, it is possible to generate multiple invitations per hour. With trade, mass producing them becomes even easier, or you can simply buy several invitations at any given time. The invitations themselves are extremely cheap, so arguing that the fight takes too long to access does not really hold up.

If you are not yet at that stage of the game, then falling behind in progression is simply a natural outcome.

I'm not interested in playing any game where a 33% easier version of Simon is considered too high of a bar for pinnacle boss mechanics.

Seriously, Simon is approved for 8 year old kids. Path of Exile is rated M (17+) or PEGI-18.

Figure it out.

Dying to memory game makes Maven just repeat another one instantly. And if you just fail to do the game 4 more times in a row that's it. She insta-phases on my 200 mil dps build, the memory game is just bad lol, I've done maven with 0 memory games before depending on what attack she uses. Still doesn't change how annoying this WoW raid boss-ahh mechanic is.

The memory game is just a cheap way to kill people, its a mechanic taken straight out of MMO raid bosses where usually your other group members would do it for you, or an addon would show you on the screen what to do. It doesn't fit in PoE at all. People buy carries cus its easier, not because "their build isn't ready". A game has no place telling me what I can or can't do, or gating content behind elitist design like this. I, and only I decide what I wanna do whenever I want.

Some people just can't memorize that many things in a row, its that simple. Plus all the stress and pressure of the fight is way too much, if you fail the mechanic you could just infinitely keep failing it. That is bad design, ofc people keep complaining about it every now and then lol

I fail to memorize them even when I cheese it by standing on the first slice in the pattern. Its just way too much.

The average human short-term memory holds 7 items for ~20 seconds and is easily expanded through paying attention and "chunking" information. Maven Memory Game is probably one of the easiest pattern recognition mechanics there is, so please don't try to water down the game to mechanics below the capability of an 8yo
