THIS DEFINITELY WONT HELP ALL USERS. But maybe a few.

### Requirements ###

Mobo with onboard/integrated Wifi

if you do not have onboard wifi integrated with your motherboard
~this wont directly help you but may give some ideas

Potential performance fix/improvement for some games

First the following suggestion is going to require a direct hard wired ethernet connection.
~If thats impossible even for a test/temporary you wont be able to try this.

whether you are already hard wired OR are on wirless--and can hardwire ethernet connection.

Go into your BIOS and disable your wifi/bluetooth adapters. This must be done at the bios level.

Once disabled, hardwired and rebooted restart the game see if performance improves.

There is a known issue with recent windows update releases that causes stuttering, gpu-power/utilization-dips, hitches and/or crashes in some games.
~i have no idea if POE is one of them however this is an easy quick test gor users who are able

It appears to be related to onboard wifi/bluetooth controller and various motherboards are impacted. It gets significantly worse with higher peripheral inputs/polling --this worse may only be visible on performance graphs especially if the issues appear sporadic

If you hear ocassional usb disconnect sounds this is also the potential culprit.

If this works as a test but you cant be hardwired normally your only option is to get a seperate pci wifi-network-card (turning off usb suspend and/or usb power statedls may work too)

I wouldnt get a new mobo or hold your breath for a fix it could take along time.

This obviously isnt likely to be the only issue if it was fine pre-patch. If you are impacted by this it may be that extra push causing you to crash and others not.

Easy thing to try might as well give it a shot if you are able.

Note: windows event log would show allot of IO type errors in theses instances

thank you for reply, I tried the method, but it had no effect

Same problem

Every 30 min - 1 hour my game crashes on desktop wothout any crash message
I have try all methods which i find in internet but nothing helped
Patch 0.2.0 was fine for me but 0.3.0 is unplayable now

i9 14900k
32gb ram
rtx 4090
win 10
Since this patch, POE2 crashes my whole system. No error message. Just turns off.
Usually shortly after a loading screen.

Ryzen 7800x3d
32gb ram
rtx 4080
win 11 24H2 26100

Read about wd ssd's being a potential issue. Checked for firmware updates. Since that didn't help, reinstalled to Samsung ssd. Also didn't help. A broad selection of other games works just fine. Will stop trying until I see a patch note which suggest it could be fixed, since the shutdown seems unhealthy...
It's absurd and disrespectful that I have a high-end computer and can't play the game. Since the game's release, I've been experiencing crashes every 20 to 40 minutes. I don't play anymore. Shameful.

A lot of people having the same problem and I dont see anyone trying to solve thins on GGG.... But the support packs page still up to date.... ... ...

Seriusly ggg throw is a f**ing bone. Say something damnit. Some of us have been crashing 50+ times a day, we're beyond frustrated! We want to play your game but we can't! Please just say SOMETHING

Edit: Ive been running logging tools all day and there is nothing related to these crashes in them. There are no errors, Theres nothing anywhere

i discovered it is a memory leak due to some calculation done with upscaling, no matter the tech (FSR, NIS and so on)
i have 16GB of ram, whenever the game goes beyond 6GB of usage, it starts dipping my frame time, doing the interlude from act 1 is a nightmare because the visual of crops burning eats a lot of resources

i did the virtual memory change and now i can play normally, but this is NOT a fix, the game still leaks memory like a broken dam

Yay! I'm not alone. I noticed it too. PoE2 even flushed my swap partition(12GB) to the max after a few minutes, and it usually never runs out of space because of my 32GB ram. Something bricked real hard in the new 0.3 patch, and I haven't read anything about a fix in recent hotfixes. That means, that there are still some poor souls debugging the hell out of this game just to get this one bug under control! I'm sending love and prayers to these guys :D
Guys I am experiencing the same issues as everyone else. When mapping with a group my game freezes and then it goes to the gears scrolling screen and after a minute I am back in game. Here is my log file:
