I've played this build before; the levelling was the worst experience I've had playing the game, but once I was able to sustain RF, it was also the best time I've had playing the game. So thank you for that Wrecker.

Anyway, I died yesterday so early on at lv74 with an RF Inquisitor on SSFHC. While the levelling was much easier with it, it was also rather uncomfortable to sustain RF while taking any sort of damage.

I think I'll once more go with your Chieftain, as it's truly a great build. I'm just really dreading the levelling process. I'll do some reading on this thread for levelling ideas. Again, thank you Wrecker.

Holy flame totem in a 4 link , Zombies in a 4 link , vaal summon skeletons if you have one ( assume you have some stuff stashed from the first guy) thats enough to make leveling pretty easy usually until you can sustain RF by chugging potions in the mid 30s low 40s.

Zombies minion damage , minion life , and whatever i usually just do added cold or added lightning while leveling whatever color i have open you can even do added fire since they do ok phys for the conversion if the socket is red.

Flame totem will just destroy stuff anyhow you can pretty much add whatever links you want to it and add in a multiple totems support if youre still rocking it in the high 30s low 40s.

You can then also do something like spark or freezing pule as skill for you to use on however many links you have for chest slot.

grab a clarity early on and its pretty chill.
I'm curious as to how far people are able to take this build? I'm playing trade, level 87 now with all labs done, but starting to feel a bit of pain around T10 maps with some bosses, essence monsters (full essence spec on atlas) and T3/4 Archnemesis monsters.

My gear is decent, not great, so I know I have space to improve. I have 3ex raw and probably another 1-2ex I can put in, but I'm now at the point of deciding whether that goes into this build or onto a new project. Being somewhat close to enemies feels like a bit of a drawback. I dropped a Dead Reckoning and a 6L fleshcrafter is down to under 5ex, so Skellie Mages is an alternative for a safer playstyle. I may also try 5/6L traps instead of Incinerate to allow a bit more distance and see how that goes.

I'd love to hear from people who have beaten the new endgame bosses and comfortably cleared red maps before deciding where my currency will go!

Take a look at my profile im on trade league i have about 10 ex invested in gear and gems.

Im doing t16s with breach , metamorph , sulphite( i love to delve and i have the node for plus 1 max resist and 35 % increased damage for every sulphite you get on a map in that map ), and abyss scarab , im running fortune favors the brave and either eater or exarch influence or maven witness on every map plus i have atlas passive for essence , harbinger and extra strongbox. I clear them with ease.

I did eater of worlds before i got the helm enchant and 21/20 gem and the woke gems. I did exarch after i got them. Eater was a little rough took me fifteen minutes , exarch after the changes was a cakewalk.

I actually stopped playing the build for a couple days and tried mathils full conversion spark occ and then stripped and sold it.

If you struggle in yellow maps you likely just need either a bit more damage in that case i recommend picking up crystal scepter bases and crafting them in harvest thats how i made both of mine. If you dont have enough life well fix life on all your gear i guess.

I have recently swapped chest and am leveling up flame trap instead of using incinerate ( it didnt really do anything anyway i feel like it was mostly just a meme part of the build) I cant speak yet to the usefullness of the trap because my gems are not leveled and are not qualitied yet.

I played 3.15 and 3.16 with RF characters - one Chieftain and one Inquisitor; I'm sticking to RF Inqui in std this league. As most people trying to tackle endgame bosses I'm using pure DoT skills instead of Incinerate (Searing bond and Flame wall, but Fire trap should work just fine). As for the rest, my stuff is 100% defensive, and yet I beat all content, from Maven (hardest due to no regen mechanics) to >80% iiq Feared or Simulacrum, while climbing to lvl 99 with regular, deathless mapping.

As Wrecker_of_Days states, you can't expect to beat endgame with early mapping gear with a non-pure meta build. If you want a safe and sound push to endgame for near no currency, mage skellies are the way to go. But if you actually like RF playstyle and are willing to invest some currency into the build, you'll beat everything just fine.
Thanks Artaniz! That's really good to know. I have 5k unreserved life which I think isn't too bad, although I may be able to drop Clarity (still linked to Arrogance) and also need to replace my gloves and Kikazaru, so could hopefully push that to 5500.

I think I'll put some time into sceptre crafting as you mentioned, look for some damage boosts on gloves, and level a trap setup in my swap set to test it out.

On an unrelated note, I have to say I'm absolutely loving this league. The mechanic is pretty nice (needs some QoL improvements!), but the atlas change is incredible. Getting 10+ essences almost every map is insane! I've also specced strongboxes and I'm now investing the rest into Ritual - two of my exalts came from there so I'm going to try and juice those up even more!

Also thanks PoitelMarto - I do enjoy the playstyle for the most part, and I'm happy to invest in this character knowing that it should pay off and that it has been successful in the endgame for others!

I've been playing around with this build to give it a little more pop. Maybe I've gone too far. I'm looking to turn on a little more boss DPS because it feels a little limp and some juicy t16 map bosses and conquerors have been giving me a lot of trouble. Admittedly, I've taken some of the focus over to explode on death and that might be the downfall (although its alot of fun) any tips are greatly appreciated

I'm glad you got a few responses to your question, KingTen87.

I know you weren't asking me specifically, but I played a few Vaal'd T16 last night to fill up my Atlas (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ebq8KvGI6EQ). My Atlas Tree is all about Torment, Rogues, Abyss, Maps, and Map bosse. So the bosses can be INSANE, duplicated...a whole bunch of stuff. Anyway, the point is, even though I don't fight the bosses you were wondering about, this is the build in a few Corrupted T16s with a 4-link RF and a 5-link Incinerate. (I think Incinerate is level 15(?) right now (re-levelling it after getting it to 20%).)

And I 111% agree with you on both the league and core change to 3.17. This is the best PoE has been in a VERY long time.

Cool changes, danknness. I personally won't have time to scoure different builds for a while, but having a dream amulet of increasing gem levels by one or two is always a nice pop. Awesome gear btw!

Since elemental overload procced from incinerate no longer buffs your rf, is it still worth it to get it?
Hey, veheresh! (I'm replying in the the guide's 3.17 thread)

Elemental Overload is only a two-node investment and is still an amazing increase in damage for boss fights, even though it's only used for Incinerate.

So I think it's 100% worth the investment.

Awesome WOD, thanks for the input as always! It's great to know what the build can do from people who have pushed it far. Like you said in the guide, it's all about tweaking the playstyle to suit - I like the idea of trying a 6L Searing Touch (1.5ex right now), getting a 6-link Fire Trap and any other sources of + gem levels I can to boost single target and trying it out for a while. I'll also rack up tons of essences in the process!
