Make sure in pob under configuration you have everything checked that applies. Are they shocked, frenzy or power charges, lightning resist penetration, etc.
you need to be careful with over-configuring pob.
- during a sirus fight, where are frenzy charges coming from?
- how is he being shocked? you arent shocking anything with just orb of storms and no innervate
- how are u at max es AND leeching es?
- why is there extra lightning penetration added in the configuration when it's all accounted for already from the spells/items/tree.
- etc.
also i highly recommend you guys to get 1 white socket to swap between chain support and conc effect. chain for mapping because conc effect feels awful and clears way slower on monsters that die right away regardless, its useful when you are constantly racing against that delirium timer, or fully clearing legions. only for uber elder or sirus I would swap to conc effect.
Was really just talking about mapping in general, the sirus fight is a little different and you're very right. Orb of storms curse on hit conductivity shocks. I'm fairly new to pob and thought i had to add in some of the lightning pen that wasn't accounted for. Either way im instant phasing a8 sirus/cortex/uber elder, but my dps is a little over 10mil from making those adjustments you said. Thank you

Yeah I fucked up the sirus fight, 2 last portals went down because storm blocked the door... Oh well, better luck next time.

Since you are already phasing these big bois then the following probably doesn't make a difference for your build, but...
POB doesn't handle shock very well. If you look at the 'is enemy shocked' option, it adds a full 50% shock effect. In order to gain the full 50% effect on Sirus/UE, it requires a huge amount of damage from one orb of storms zap. Also, shock duration & effectiveness is proportional to the critted lightning you do from one zap. In reality, even with your good gear, I doubt that orb of storms is able to exceed the shock threshold, and if it did, it would only be something like 5% effectiveness for 0.2 seconds. And since you are using conc destr, your storm brand is not able to shock either.

Since you are already phasing these big bois then the following probably doesn't make a difference for your build, but...

You can still crit with Controlled Destruction as it's 100% reduced crit chance, not 100% less. Even without power charges (no adds), my PoB says 2.2% (not much, but SB strikes often enough to matter). With power charges though it goes up to 8.8% (without CD it would be 14.3%)

Sorry, I was thinking of the wrong support spell. I meant to say elemental focus, which would block storm brand from inflicting elemental ailments.

Is chain really that noticeable if you are constantly casting Brand Recall on cooldown?
