EA 3.9 Ignite -- Cap Your Damage

Thanks for updating the guide :)
Right now I'm trying to get more chaos resists and its so hard to get it while maintaining other resists over 75.

There's another variant which might ease the gearing (especially if going for the 85% chaos resist version) and boost the damage considerably while making the weapon swapping less awkward:

Swap Kaom's Heart with Belly of the Beast and put in the 6L single target EA set-up.

Otherwise, during mapping, you have both the single target and AoE available. More importantly, the Ballistas will fire an extra 4 projectiles, and lift the crafting requirements from the boots (making it a LOT easier to get up to 50% chaos resist in that slot, maybe spell dodge too). Belly will also make resists easier to manage, and even allow for the possibility of +1/+2 corruptions for even more damage.

This comes at a price of about 1K life (so at the high end the life will drop from 8.5K or so to 7.5K), but if it enables one to reasonably get Chaos resist to 85% via Divine Flesh, then that will be an overall gain of ehp. Plus, more damage can equate to better survivability anyways, so 1K life seems a small price to pay for all the benefits.

Hey, I tried out explosive arrow yesterday and love the skill.

Quick question, Shouldn't you want less duration explosive arrow enchant since the fuse limit is 19?

I'm assuming that the explosive arrow totems also count towards the fuse limit.
i love this build ! thank so much

I think that 19 limitation is for radius increase not fuse limit
Hey man you made ea work, nice.
I have a question about your dps calc, where did you get that formula?
To my understanding you and totems use different skill so you don't add up all explosions to one ignite (all fuses to one explosion, that applies big ignite).
From that video it look to me that you are dealing maybe ~10% boss xp/sec ignite dot, and the rest are explosions(each totem/you does its own explosion).
Also for totems I think that even they don't share fuses since it is from different sources (but its same skill gem so dunno they could stack).

Anyway i think dps is something like:
your explosion/sec + your explosion ignite dot(I assume that its the largest explosion) + each totem explosion/sec.
I didn't count hits since they are weapon base + crafted cold/lightning.
Nice build.

I'll still have to calculate the breakpoint at which the skill duration version outdistances the ignite duration version in terms of overall dps, but from a quick eyeball it looks like it'll be greater than the 6 second mark from the moment you start firing at the boss.

It seems then that with high end gear the difference between ignite duration and skill duration will be rather academic, but skill duration should make a greater impact for those still in the process of gearing and building levels for more damage and survivability.

On a separate note:

There's another variant which might ease the gearing (especially if going for the 85% chaos resist version) and boost the damage considerably while making the weapon swapping less awkward:

Swap Kaom's Heart with Belly of the Beast and put in the 6L single target EA set-up.

In the secondary Quill Rain, create a 6L Ballista set-up with:
Ballista Totem - Explosive Arrow - Barrage Support - Multiple Totems - GMP - Greater Volley

Since you only really use Totems versus bosses, you can weapon swap from AoE EA Quill Rain to Ballista Quill Rain against the boss.

I've crunched the numbers a few times and agree that standing still is important, which is why I am pushing hard for 85% resist. The EHP it grants against Awakener is closer to 50% and allows you to ignore a great deal of mechanics.

You can go Belly if you like, but I dislike giving up crit reduct Kaoms this league.

The other man is correct in pointing out the fuse limit is not 19, and that is simply the radius increase cap. But you are correct in that totems count towards the fuse limit.

If the cap was 19, this would be a very different kind of build. (I also wouldn't play it.)
