Watched ~ 4hours with account linked and got no drop T_T

I understand that its still luck based evern after 4h with every few minutes having a 1% chance....

still a bit frustrating ;)

A lot of us watched the whole 8 hours.

What hurts most is that GGG blatantly threatens to ban small-time streamers from offering "incentives" to watch their stream. (Like having giveaways of the pixels you earned with your own time in-game.)

Meanwhile, they promise their entire fan base WHO CAN'T AFFORD TO FLY ACROSS THE PLANET to be at ExileCon that "oh if you tune in and watch with us you can get drops -- and maybe even be lucky enough to get more than one!" but then they completely fail to deliver. It's sooooo hypocritical. I went to bed with a smile on my face last night thinking it was probably a bug due to the overwhelming amount of traffic and that I'd wake up GGG/Twitch would have addressed it but... woke up to more aimless community speculation. Frowning now.

120k viewers on average were basically wrangled in by a incentives that never even showed. 120k viewers on average and I've still only seen like 3 proof posts of people receiving footprints or a cape. Many of us spent essentially an 8-hour work day diligently watching and INFLATING their numbers well-beyond the level of exposure they would usually have... so where's our thanks? Where's our compensation in doing our part in the "exposure scheme?"

When promises aren't made, I usually would have stuck around for the Keynotes, gone to work, and then come home to watch recordings. I think that's what I'll have to do next time.

Again, this could still be fixed in a day or two but I just feel we're going to be told that everything was working as it should have and that we're just being "greedy, whiny and unappreciative."

EDIT: I feel like I have to add this because of how my heart goes out to Chris Wilson. I'm not personally upset, or whatever -- I love this game, I love Chris's spirit and the fact that he was choking back tears yesterday when he finally got to show us PoE2... it's just the stupid marketing/sales team or whoever organizes this shoddy crap that taints such a wonderful project. If anyone from said team reads this comment: maybe next time just don't announce incentives to watch the stream. Maybe just enable drops on the day and reward those who actually choose to watch the Con live by their own free will. That way you wouldn't be disappoint your true fans for the sake of hyping up some new ones.

This is so true ^^ Maybe GGG will post something and things work out

So you get 1,5% chance per 5 minutes that you watch the stream. So in my case - I watched 7,5 hours non stop that means:

5 min. 1,5%
10 min. 3%
100 min. 30%
300 min. 90%
330 min. 99%
335 min. 100% chance after 5 hours and 35 minutes

If their post was correct then everyone who watched for longer than 335 minutes in a row (that is when the chance reaches 100%) should have gotten at least 1 drop.

Since I enjoyed the stream very much I fear that the problem were disconnects during the stream and not ill will on GGG´s part - I think that the timer count for dice rolls was reset by twitch everytime you were disconnected for a short while lasting til the reconnectoin to twitch.

Since I also got nothing I assume that Twitch reset the counter every time you were disconnected, wich happened quite frequently. I will watch tonight again and see if the odds are better.

That is so true, Overall I was watching the whole event. In London that is up to 4AM and as for everyone not a single MTX.

PS: There were several disconnects during the string

No. Every 5 min you had 1.5% chance. This doesnt add up. If you watched whole stream you had like 28% chance to get something.
This is utter BS.

I watched it all, but just because I live in ZA, I don't qualify, as it's a 'prime video' only country. What BS sort of reward system is this ? Only those that live in certain countries even have a chance....

Now you know why people massively did do prime twich subs during stream.
And if you look at post you will see that they say that you don't need to have
prime to have actual chance of getting drop.

Lot of prime sub ppl do on stream when Chris(?) I think Chris said that if u do prime sub u will get rewards from twitch starting from 3.9 patch
I think its a little bit sad that the response from GGG so far is "You were unlucky" Instead of giving the guys which were linked a free mtx from the rare section or so smth else. I mean it cost them like nothing and everyone would be happy. Dont missunderstand me POE is still a great game and i continue playing it but it leaves a bitter taste on this exile con.

that´s not right.
you have a 1.5% chance to get a drop after 5 minutes of watchtime.
which means:

5min: 1.5% drop - 98.5% nodrop
10min: 1.5% drop - 98.5% nodrop
15min: 1.5% drop - 98.5% nodrop
and so on..
the chance for a drop doesn´t stack additively.

this means, to calculate the dropchance, you need to take the chance for a nodrop and mutliply that.

5min: chance for nodrop: 98.5%
10min: chance for nodrop: 98.5% x 98.5% = 97.0225%
15min: chance for nodrop: 98.5% x 98.5% x 98.5% = 95.567..%
....
after the 5.5 hours, you would have 5.5 x 12 (cause 12 chances of 1.5% every hour) -> 66
98.5% chance for a nodrop 66 times
-> 0.985 ^ 66 = 36.88..% chance for a nodrop.

even after 8 hours you still have a 23.43..% chance for a nodrop.

maybe i still got something wrong. (i never liked those kind of calculations :D)

after all, it´s kinda strange, that their are so little people reporting drops. maybe just we nodrop-people (i got no drop myself after watching the whole stream) come here to complain..

what still needs to be said here:

i LOVE what i saw in the stream and i am hyped for everything that will come to PoE! <3
watching full stream no drop man.

It doesn't matter where you live, It's safe to say now that most of us received nothing from yesterday (read this thread, reddit, whatever).
What matters is GGG (or Twitch) messed up drops, either technically or by creating way too low initial chance. They should've took example from Warframe Twitch drops where you get 1 guaranteed drop every 30 minutes, and then second roll decides what type of item you get.

Overall GGG drops system is badly designed and visualization is non-existent. You can't even see what Twitch account is linked to your PoE account in settings without opening page source code - it's messy and unfriendly. No wonder no one tested if the drops work before rolling this to 120k viewers.

And worst part of this failure is that after so many hours after the end of Day 1 stream, no official comment has been made (aside from that "you were unlucky, HTFU" support auto-reply)
