Hi everyone, pretty new on Vortex. How does it do against bosses ? I am considering a start with vortex, but i'm afraid it doesnt do enough damage on bosses.
(Hesitating between pyroclast mines / vortex as a starter). What are your thoughts? Thank you very much | |
" Damage numbers can be deceptive. The damage has constant uptime (most skills don't exactly). It's actually nice for bossing because you can be constantly moving around and dodging things. If you consider Echoes of the Atlas, you are fighting up to 10 bosses in a fairly small arena, so mobility is extremely important. If you're standing still, one of those 10 bosses is probably smacking you in the face with something, less so (although you will get hit eventually) when you're mobile the entire time. Given the size of the arena, your vortex and cold snap will be overlapping regularly and often on multiple bosses. So, vortex is a good bossing candidate (especially if you want to really learn boss mechanics) in any league, but for this league it is beautiful. For the new posters that are praising the aura stacker nerfs. You must be new and uninformed. The nerfs to aura stacker and cluster jewels hurt Occultist too!! Most of us who min max this build use notables like stalwart commander. Hopefully with the buffs Occultist got it balances out. Not to happy with the cluster jewel nerfs.

I'm hoping the cluster nerf isn't too steep of a tragedy, it seemed like an expensive yet really juicy way of scaling this build. I'm really looking forward to this patch though, Vortex seems great for Ritual and the new boss fights.
