[3.25] Scourge Arrow Poison Prolif Pathfinder - Fast, tanky, fun to play

Random question, do you guys actually use the active part of plague bearer? Am I reading the tooltip correctly in that once it's at maximum value it's better to just leave it to take advantage of the 22% dot multi?

I have been unable to find a solid answer on this important SA question. I know GGG has said Expedition will be core, but I can't find if they have committed to making it core by next league?

Has anybody seen anything that hints or says they will or will not have expedition next league? I am really wanting to scale into nightgrip by day 1-2 and be able to do endgame content.


No idea I dont think they said anything about when. Im hoping it will be core next league tho, but from what I pobbed no nightgrip setup isnt that much weaker so even if it doesnt its probably manageable as always.

You get the dot multi only when infecting what means when you have plague bearer active.

Can someone take a look at my POB and figure out why my damage is so low? It's actually higher than it should be because I don't use mirage archer...

Your damage in game should be pretty dang good. If you want more damage deathbeam managed to get very high damage by going crit and crafting some multi-influenced mod items.

If you are asking why your Full DPS damage is so low, that is because you have to increase the number next to the skills. I am referring to the count to the right of the active skill gem in POB's Skill tab. Deathbeam sets the skills to Thorn Arrows and then has the non-totem Scourge Arrow set to 8(6 50% dmg and 1 100% dmg) and the totem Scourge Arrow set to 40 (8 * 5 totems). I am not familiar with exactly how these calculations are carried out, but that is what I saw. Also, on your helm, you have to edit the item to spell Focused->Focussed for the game to recognize it and that will increase your damage by another 50% more or so.

Edit: Also, something that I keep screwing up is when I get into a stressful fight I forget or can't charge up my scourge arrow all the way and my totems die before getting off an attack. I found slotting in faster attacks helps with this shooting for 0.5-0.6 second full channel times. I think this is the idea behind the mirage archer is that it is also doing a bit of dps when you are running.

I did manage to get focused working, so thanks for that tip. Also, the reason I don't use mirage archer or faster casting, despite wanting to, is I really hate withering step and blink arrow. Maybe I could drop second wind and put in withering step for bosses, hmm.

EDIT: I forgot to add, I've been using the Wise Oak bismuth flask instead of our crafted one since I'm giga-overcapped on resistances. Probably doesn't do too much, but it provides more value than the crafted one I think. To get the most out of it, ideally I'd have cold res as my lowest, but no chance of that happening with taste of hate constantly running.

Just to the right of active skill scourge arrow there is a Count. You can see it in your POB, and that is what should be 8/40. This count is used to indicate where multiple instances of a skill would be hitting an enemy like totems or ball lightning and is the only way to get decent Scourge Arrow numbers.

As an additional note, I use Mirage Archer+Blast Rain+Faster Attacks+Withering Touch to apply Wither. I would also STRONGLY advise anybody who is using Divine Flesh to try out Forbidden Taste with On Savage Hit Enchantment. Healing to full when you take a big hit is absurd.

Edit: Also, to get accurate numbers for Full DPS you should remove the 700% more that is on your Darkscorn as the extra counts include it.

Two things I messed up, 1 I didn't resummon my totems and 2 I didn't re-wither with withering step after the initial burst. Still died pretty quick though.

I will add, swapping my large chaos cluster for another martial prowess/feed the fury added something stupid to my total dps, around 5mil I think. I lost the hinder, but it was only 15% anyway and everything is dead so fast it doesn't matter.

I'm messing around with flasks after finding that I can get away with a single 'of resistance' suffix on any flask that has perma-uptime. At the moment, I'm using a quartz flask for the extra dodge, but I'm open to suggestions on what to change it to. I also don't think I need the 'reduced mana cost of skills' craft so that's another potentially flexible slot.

If I'm starting this league way late, as I do. It it unreasonable to try and league start this? How high is the current Economic Hurdle to be functioning in maps?

If you download the POB and go to 'starter', you'll see it's all pretty cheap gear. I played this as my second character so I already had some currency in the bank to buy core items, but you could start as toxic rain PF, farm, then buy what you need.

This can definitely be a league starter, especially with Nightgrip and Bismuth Flask. At the current price points this build is dirt cheap until you try gearing for endgame with a 6L Grasping Mail and the Large Clusters etc.

For a true blue league start Nightgrip would be dirt cheap within a day or two, Darkscorn is cheap, most flasks are cheap outside the uniques and quicksilver. This means you can max your resists pretty easily and get around a 1-3 mil DPS with around an ex of investment, which should be around enough to do most content up to and possibly including end game.

The pricey that boosts your survivability or dps: Thread of Hope, Divine Flesh(glorious vanity), Taste of Hate, 6L Darkscorn for totems, Aul's Uprising, Circle of Nostalgia with good implicits, corrupted Nightgrip, 6l Grasping Mail for inc Defences, Watcher's Eye, Large Clusters.

Each of the above usually goes for 50c+ and often an 1-5 ex. This is why I am so big on Nightgrip staying in the game as it basically lets you get a 8L (2x lvl 20 added chaos damage) for low low low investment. You can choose if you want to shoot for stupid amounts of damage or stupid amounts of tankiness with decent damage.

tldr: You can get most of the way to endgame for 1-2ex if Nightgrip stays and can upgrade to either destroying endgame bosses or not dying vs endgame bosses.
