They are super awkward, as at some point you have to transition to full ES from a hybrid, and you have to switch from hp to hybrid earlier. I think its a terribly and clumsy transition.

Then again, walking around with 12ES (some get much higher but thats enough for me) with occultist regen ability is awesome.

Last league I played Occultist Vortex and it make even usually dicey encounters quite easy.

Yeah, I already have a terrible record of surviving with HP, I doubt I'd do any better WITHOUT any.
Solid build ty for the guide, have pretty poverty gear right now but am having a great time.
I am running a slightly modified version of this and looking to pick up EB plus a few extra ES nodes. Level 52, fun so far

Sounds like a fun idea! Been running blind after picking up Hrimsorrow, so if you have a tree to share, I'd love to see what else you did differently.
I've been comparing notes with this build (as have some others):

..but they don't use a staff, and I'm going for the Merlin Inquisitor aesthetic. Someone mentioned Disintegrator as a staff to possibly build around, but I also like the idea of a CwC staff. Plus I'm very poor.

Currently angling towards something like this:

Why do you recommend ilvl 80 shaper staff, I mean ilvl 75 is good for cwc. Can i cut costs by buying ilvl 75 staff?
Created a templar guy. Search in path of building for my cahracter OriathsLastHope
