1- Use dread banner it will be a nice damage bonus (60-100k) , you can drop faster casting for it , it really is not that usefull imo.

2- Level up and quality your gems to 20.

3- Get a 21/0 Vaal Summon Skeletons if you can.(They are pretty cheap)


These will raise your damage by 180k per skeleton you can link dread banner with generosity for an additional 30k damage increase.

Now onto more complex/expensive upgrades :

- Replace you helmet with a bone helmet that has also minion damage on it(like you current helm) , +2 to socketed minion gems really dont matter imo.

- Get a body armour with +1 to all socketed gems or +2 to level of socketed duration gems or both.

- Get wands which have both +1 to level all minion gems and +1 to level all spell gems and must have minions deal extra damage/have attack speed.(This cost min 10 ex so I only recommend this if you want to waste your currency for a 50-100k damage upgrade per wand)

Generosity should be link with Dread Banner you said, but where do i fit this in, what gem do i cut?
Do i quality all my gems to 20%?

How do i play with Dread Banner do i cast it once and keep carrying it or do i put it down on fights?

The guide says your last Ascendancy talent is Bone Barrier but on the skill tree link you took Essence Glutton--which one is it?

Please answer, I'm seeing a lot of variations to different summoner builds and I just want one that I can farm Awakener with, not my first toon so I have a reasonable budget.

Okay, well here's a quick tutorial on how to use summon spectre for carnage chieftains. Maybe this will help. If not, I'll dive a bit deeper with you:

1. Slot Raise Spectre, Meat Shield, and Blood Magic linked
2. Go to Act 2 - The Old Fields
3. Spam desecrate until you see some big red apes on the ground
4. Hold A to target corpses and hover your mouse around until you see "Carnage Chieftain" on the bar on top
5. While still holding A, press your Raise Spectre skill
6. You'll have a spectre of a Carnage Chieftain, repeat to get more of them
7. Now your carnage chieftain will be stored in desecrate so if they die in the future, just spam desecrate and their bodies should show up again eventually
8. Resummon as needed.

You should only ever need to resummon if they die. Maybe that helps? If not I might need a bit more clarification to help out =)

I also picked up a wand with Aspect of the Avian and wondered if others have tried this? Obviously hurts our MoM pool (considering speccing out of MoM but haven't done so yet) so unsure if the buffs are worth it. Also can't seem to search for them in PoE trade so no idea on value.

Last question I had is why the difference in price between +1 minion skill gems and +1 spell skill gems? For this build their effect seems identical so can only assume it's for other builds. Are there minion skills that are not also spells?

Glad to hear you were able to bang through Sirus 5. That's pretty awesome! congrats.

Grabbing Another To Dust and getting some more life is another totally valid way to go if you don't want to pick up aligned spirits. I mostly did it to help with minion damage and to make sure my Mana was at a good ratio for MoM. If you're not hurting for Mana like i was, a To Dust is a better way to go more than likely.

Aspect of the Avian sounds pretty cool. i haven't seen anyone use it so that might be a nifty new thing to play around with. I don't see anything wrong with it outside of it maybe locking you out of another more beneficial mod? I don't know what that would be, but if it's working for you, use it!

On the modifiers, probably just due to +1 Minion being more rare as it's only available on Convoking wands instead of all wands. It can also roll with other minion stats so that may contribute to the price. For the intentions of this build they're the same and stacking both of them is best if you can.

I'm guessing that was just a clerical error. Bone Barrier is probably the better way to go for most things.

If you check the PoB, it has it correctly listed as Bone Barrier.

Thank you so much! I read it completely wrong originally and was killing the carnage chieftains and use raise spectres so that was clearly why they weren't staying. Looks like its working great now. Again thank you!
