1.1.0 Patch Notes - Sacrifice of the Vaal

This single rebalance destroys AOE casters because of reflect and thorns.

"The way leech applies to the player has changed. If you leech additional life while currently leeching, it no longer queues after the current leech. Technically, where multiple leeches are stacked, the largest one is used."

With Ice Nova on groups, you build up multiple leeches that sustain the leech for the second cast. Not much hope of doing that anymore. Ice Nova is officially dead.
I'm waiting on the spell re-balance notes.
So far I'm not really impressed, starting to feel like solo players are getting the short end of the stick.
So many tears

So far this patch looks very promising. I'll cry if i have to once i have a more complete picture.
So another kick in the ass for solo players.

I give money for this game, because it is one of the games who had a good balance between solo and group play. Now they going massivly to group play.

I dont like that so i dont pay money further. And if its go this way i leave the game and must look for another.

I played it verry often an liked it verry much. But what chris wilson and his ggg guys make in the last month against solo play is not for me.

Perhaps chris dont like play solo and all must follow him.

The second. I liked the marauder. It was a verry nice class and has its problems in higher maps. But now the will change the skilltree. I cant understand this because the tree was verry good and balanced.

I have the apprehencion its all for pvp. I leaved wow of balancing and crying people reasons so perhaps i should do the same here.

It was a nice time with ggg. But i fear its all over in near future.

I know its not a great deficit if i go :-)

But its in all new games the same. If you have a great game an like it the developper ruin that game and the fun is over.

so now that it's confirmed vaal areas don't appear in maps here is the obvious question:

Do you really think it is a good game design to have end-game players waste hours of playtime opening dozens of instances of ledges or sarns or whatever area, just to be able to have a chance at doing the new content?

No, it is not... I got very upset hearing this.. Who wants to farm low level places in end game? Seriously.. Not all of us are bots that mindlessly farm piety/dom.

Wow. RIP to all new players, you won't be able to do much of ANYTHING compared to older ones.

Older ones where? In Standard?

There is absolutely no point for new players to start in Standard now when the leagues start.

I admit I am a bit biased as I don't play Standard, but for those who like the persistent league where they can keep gathering more and more stuff - it's only fair that those who has been doing it for longer / do it better, have better stuff, incl. legacy uniques.

Also, are you implying that to do "anything" you need one of the handful of powerful, rare and very expensive uniques, some of which become legacy? Why? To copy the "best, fasterest, powerfulerest" build, according to the current game forum meta?

I don't have all the answers as to how you would keep those oldest members happy, but I can promise you: new ones will be completely put-off to learn they will never be able to afford the most useful version of items they want for builds they want to make

As above, why should everybody (e.g. the new players) have access to or ability to purchase the "best stuff"? Those who play better / longer have more, those who don't, have less.

So many people I know are enjoying PoE a lot and some of them have not ever heard or seen the name "Shavronne's" or "Kaom's" or "Soul Taker".

And even if a newbie starts out in Standard instead of Ambush, why would that league be not newbie friendly? Because the newbie can't afford a unique to build a super powerful endgame character?

This pretentiousness - that everybody should be able to do everything - is really weird.
Everybody should and is able to roll all mods on all rares the same way. But uniques are unique, and some of them just became even more unique.

Your statements are irrelevant.
-Summoners are in an increasingly bad place right now. Completely disregarding when they were considered "OP", every change to summoner has been an increasing nerf towards the playstyle alone, much less the build that they were defined upon.
-Auras were buffed but their price was far higher than the benefit they offered. Considering Summoners already had to traverse half the tree to pick up summoner nodes and another hefty investment for survivability alone, now summoners are forced to invest even more point into reservation nodes. Given the vast majority of the leveling process is survivability and direct summon utility, at what point does this build take off? 70? 80? That's already far into end game. Any build that takes that long to develop isn't worth the effort to even attempt to pull it off.

It's more than efficient enough atm.
So that basically means that it used to be OP if now is a bad place for summoners to you, right ? Well good thing it's not anymore ( I'm not actually quite sure about that, snapshotting can make summoners very very powerful, that should be fixed though ).

When the efficiency of a build is based on abuse of bugged mechanics, the build isn't good to begin with.
Summoners haven't been OP in years, not since their first onslaught of official nerfs. Summoners only exceled in one aspect: soloing. Even then, there were other builds that rivaled their speed and efficiency. Right now, summoners don't really rival the speed and efficiency of other popular options.

It's a dying build. It has been for years now. Nerf after nerf for years is bringing it to its knees. I'll respect the fact that you started 2 weeks ago and finally made it to Cruel, however, some of us have been playing the build for years and know a lot more than you do. If I wanted unrivaled speed and efficiency, summoner wouldn't be my choice. If I wanted a cheap build to solo with, summoner still wouldn't be my choice.

Never underestimate the importance of entertainment: Who wouldn't want a bunch of Harlem-shaking, blood dripping moaners whirling around him? And then there's the turbo-button now, making things really hilarious (it's called Flesh Offering).

no it's not.
SSF is not and will never be a standard for balance, it is not for people entitled to getting more without trading.
