Login screen "frozen"

I had a disconnect, and now the Login screen is frozen. I can't login, exit, etc. CTR+ALT+DEL doesn't work in this state, nor does ALT+TAB to get me to my windows.

How can I uninstall the game to reinstall it? I was having issues with going to town with waypoints and portals and deaths, and i tried the CTRL+Click, and it was working, until i tried the last time and it froze my login screen.

Any way to resolve this issue? I am having that problem now.
The suggestions in this thread include the best ways to check that your game file is working correctly.
Balance & Design
Same problem here. The game starts fine and I can play normally until I exit to the main menu, at which point the game hard freezes, with "not responding".

Actually, as I'm typing this, a box titled "Exception" has just popped up with "bad allocation" and no other text, but it took a good while to. This only seems to have started happening in the last few hours, and I was in the marketplace sewers when I exited.
This is from the game client using all your RAM on your computer. I don't know a fix. Yet!
I've had many issues, this issue being one. You can see my full diagnosis and testing here: http://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/27795

Anyway, try enabling "run as administrator" and "windows xp sp3" compatibility and see if that fixes the log-in screen freezing, though my freeze was from the first log-in, not sequential ones.

If this is truely the cause, there is a catastrophically massive memory leak in this game somewhere, because I also sometimes get this problem on disconnects (which are another issue in themselves) and I have 16 gigs of high quality ram.

That is a truely incredible amount of ram for one program to devour essentially on it's own.

The game does have massive demands on memory, for some reason. I managed to get to my CTRL+ALT+DELETE and check processes. It was eating 1.5 million.
