Legacy Uniques will be really OP. Some builds require legacy uniques, they won't work with the nerfed ones. Players with legacy Uniques will be extremely powerful. If you have one of the uniques before the patch, you'll be extremely rich, those uniques will go for hundreds and thousands of exalts. Rich becomes richer. New characters will never be as powerful as ones with legacy uniques. They should just nerf the old uniques too, there's no reason not to do so. I don't care if someone has one of the uniques on one of their characters, and they'll become less powerful; they were too OP in the first place; they nerf the uniques, because they're unbalanced.
They no longer have to balance the game around Legacy uniques, meaning their older and more powerful forms should be more of a luxury than a requirement. Who cares if someone else has better survivability than you in the PvE portion of the game? I'm worried about PvP, but hopefully they'll place a ban on Legacy Uniques for the events.

Everyone does
And also it's a big worry for pvp as you mentioned
And ewww at this guild premium stash tabs nonsense and sacrificing end game maps for titles or whatever, they're gonna turn it into a p2w game like d3. THat and the legacy items nonsense seems to suggest so. I suppose all the success of the supporter packs got to their head.

QFT.
The most powerful items in the game being legacy-only just as the game officially releases really ruins the game, in my opinion. It's like, 'Hey, come play our game! Just don't expect to ever be as powerful as people who were already here. Because we like them more.'
I didn't think a single change could completely kill the game for me. It did.

...I don't think we need to worry too much about the Standard League ... the standard league is not competitive, at least in regard to the PvE part.
Standard Ladder
and besides that there are other forms of competition in there: crafters compete in crafting, others compete in strapping on the highest MF they can get etc etc.
Just because you are ignorant doesnt mean others are too.
There is a 50-50% player base divide between permanent and temporary league.
While you cant see the whole picture, I'm sure those 50% that play a permanent league (for their own reasons and tastes!!!) have plenty to worry after reading these "whatever"

I am NOT happy with these changes.
Too many nerfs.
GGG...haven't you guys learn anything from Diablo 3? You do NOT nerf a character!! NEVER. That's like a big no-no when it comes to re-balancing ARPG games.
If you want to re-balance the game, make the other classes STRONGR, NOT make pre-existing classes weaker!
Come on guys...Diablo 3 tried doing it and it fails. Don't make the same mistake...
This was a game in beta testing. If you weren't expecting certain builds/items to be adjusted/nerfed, then you should have just waited for release.

When done 100% perfectly, buffing other characters results in the same situation as nerfing one. If not pulled off perfectly, then you get power creep. Mitigating power creep is important to long term longevity of a game.
What is with all the whining about the legacy uniques? Oh no, now new players won't be on the same power level of the people who they had no chance of ever competing with anyway. What is the world coming to?

So players see the game on Steam, log in, and can never be competitive. Nobody who starts the game at official release can ever compete. And that's not a problem? Why even bother putting it on Steam then? Why allow new accounts? Why even play, when the best items are always out of reach?

They can't compete? My goodness, good thing I already have some wealth, seeing how it seems I won't ever be making any again.
