To be honest i like these patch notes but i thought the melee buffs were meant to be mainly on the survivality, i'm melee and all my resist/max resists nodes are getting nerfed along with my 7 endurance charges. This patch is a nerf to melee survival and a buff to melee's damage, at least its how i see it.


This patch is a buff to melee survival because of how the armor formula works. yes GGG hasn't specifically stated armor is getting a direct buff. But it doesn't have to. Because it is getting an indirect buff. Armor is relative to damage taken, so monsters do less damage then armor is more useful.
I used to play Diablo 3, then I realized it doesn't have a Shabby Jerkin.

I think GGG may end up adding some max resist nodes across the tree, like 2-3% for each element per node, just so EA isn't the only possible way to make an RF build or have good survivability. Right now marauders were basically the best starter class what with inner force, EA, all those health and regen nodes at the start and access to a lot of powerful keystones.

Who knows, maybe they'll be behind all those little resist clusters no one takes.

We're still working on changes. I haven't mentioned it in the patch notes yet because it depends a lot on tomorrow's testing.

Should have put this line in a spot on that notes list. Would of been much easier to find out what was going on with the resync update vs scouring through many pages of posts to find this simple line. Looking forward to the patch.

Now....What about those support packages...................................

They only just added the increased burning damage gem that gave that specific playstyle a huge damage boost. Have people really been making use of that build since that gem was even available?

Yes! As a CI melee-turned-power siphon I'm absolutely thrilled by this patch and consider blowing some dust off my claw and start wreaking havoc I wanted to wreak before the patch but couldn't because physical damage sucked!

With buffs to crit and melee damage it will finally be viable to play as a melee for me, less monster damage = less stuns (might even drop chayula for dps amulet!), less freezes and shocks. Less es should easily be offset by less monster damage, and melee buffs will FINALLY make it possible to go melee with TONS of leech from phys damage, for a very high-risk high-reward high-tempo gameplay which melee should always be!


Exactly my thoughts!And my favourite gameplay style.Tons of DPS but being at constant risk-kill them before they kill you.I love it.Plus to everybody who might think melee is gonna be OP,i seriously doubt it since u are getting all the damage in your face.Melee should have significantly higher DPS than ranged attacks to be somewhat balanced.

They only just added the increased burning damage gem that gave that specific playstyle a huge damage boost. Have people really been making use of that build since that gem was even available?

That gem also burns you for more damage, meaning it is unsustainable to use that gem linked with righteous fire as you won't be able to regen your health fast enough.

just for u to know, increase burning damage from gem or passive not just increase damage u dealt from RF, but also increase burning damage u take from RF, so using inc burning dmg gem is suicide

If u use RF build supported by INCREASE BURNING DAMAGE support gem it will also increase the damage u take from RF.... means u need more life regen and life to sustain RF
