0.11.0 Patch Notes

Come on some of you FP EK Sporkers, don't cry yet :) Your builds won't be garbage, wait, see and adapt if necessary.

Personally, I can't wait to see my new passive tree, cautiously try out how easier/harder the game is and try to work out the best out of my full respec!

Don't tell me you play a game with THIS passive tree and hate to do some tinkering and calculating ;)

Righteous Fire.

You mention that Unrighteous Fire is getting a change (mob ability). But, nothing about Righteous Fire. Many builds relied on max resists (elemental equilibrium), high ES, and %regen in order to sustain it.

While I completely agree with the changes to reduce life and ES nodes, this is a skill that will be even harder to use. As it is, the build has to be almost completely focused on nothing but sustaining it.

With this skill being so rarely used in builds, perhaps it never came up in design or testing. I won't be using my level 75 witch for a while due to this patch.

A reduction in it's damage to the player would fix this. Keep in mind that characters used to get 84% reduction with fire resist (EQ + purity) and now only get 81%. That's an 18.75% increase on top of whatever ES nerfs happen. Making it hit the player for 75% of total life works.

So much butt hurt in this thread.

I'm really glad so many of you will be quitting the game, I'd prefer to play a game without crying little kids.

You know how to tell a certain skill and build was very over powered and broken? When a SMALL adjustment is made to it that scales the damage output in line with other skills to balance the game and people immediately start SCREAMING that you have BROKEN their build and they can no longer face roll content with their iWin button and that their character is unplayable now. What a joke. They need to learn to play.

Chris I'm really happy to see the game going in the right direction with balance. Don't let the usual gaming forum QQing dishearten you. This is a really excellent patch. Your team has done a fantastic job. Very excited to see patch deployed on live server.

And in regards to balance, contrary to what many babies are saying in this thread, you are doing it the right way! You don't balance over powered skills by making all the other skills overpowered as well, you balance out the OP skills and really bring out the diversity in classes, builds and use of the passive tree. Which is the direction you're moving in.
The only thing I'm sad about is not enough time per day to play all my very interesting uniquely built alts that I have made. ;P

Totally stellar job GGG!

btw, with monster damage being rebalanced, have the specific one shot kills been nerfed out of the game?

I think they will be the same, maybe worse
Things like Vaal smash was already high enough armor means nothing, now endurance charge and granite nerfs, plus less health means your still just as dead

So the big hits do a little less, but you have less health
The big spell damage hits do less but you now have a lot less max resists.
Can I offer anybody some cheese with all this whine. Do all the people complaining remember this is a game in open Beta right! Expect changes to these new changes in the near future. Its just like life, you must adjust to adversity not just cry and give up.
Patch = life adversity. ok.
Not nearly as dramatic as weapon swap aura patch in closed beta :p

So no "on-crit" effect for physical damage in this patch?

Reading the Patch notes made me happy. Reading the first dozen or so pages of comments almost made me cry.

Really, why can't people take their time and read the notes before starting to rant about this and that getting nerfed? *sigh*

Chris' post were my thoughts exactly; no nerfs but balance. To my understanding one of the main goals of PoE was to maximise the amount of builds and the build diversity. I thought it was the very thing that inspired people to play this game on the first place; the freedom of creating a unique build and see it grow.

EK,FP,Spark, RoA "nerfed"? Good, now I'll see more new interesting builds when playing the game, not the same five builds all over again.

Thank you GGG! Can't wait for Wednesday and hoping to see some numbers myself.

(PS. Not a native language user so please excuse the grammar)

The only number you'll notice is a steep decline in the already staggering population ;).

edit: Your grammar is better than 99.9% of the American population. Please don't ever PS. that silly comment at the end of your posts.

Except that GGG hasn't given all the numbers on what they are changing and exactly how much. They actually havent said anything about Monster Health. For all we know that is most likely adjusted as well. Hoping anyway. Only way to know how it will be is to play it when it hits.

They did not mention any changes to monster health, only damage, so it's safer to assume, that it will be not changed. I don't know exact numbers, so at the moment I only make some assumption and I'm waiting with finalizing mu respec theorycrafting, but what I'm able to calculate makes me pessimistic.

For comparison, this is my current build:

http://www.pathofexile.com/passive-skill-tree/AAAAAgUAAnEEswVbDH0OrRB_FE0UdRUgFm8ZLhmFGbQaOB0UI00kqiftKaUqTSzpMn4yiTbpOuE8LT8nQDZEckbXSn1PfVBQVElVxlb6V-JYY1nzXz9mnmegZ71qk26qcH1yqXRBd-V6uHzZgFaExId2iPGLjIzPj0aQVZuhogCmV6cIp4SplayqrpO0-bc-uJO53cAPwBrEFcT2xp7GrsbYytPPZdDQ1I_V7d0N4XPjaudS52PsOO0g7m_vDvAf8i_yRfPd9kj60vzF_go=

And this is potential respec I'm thinking of:

Peoplw who don't do math assume resolute technique beats crit+acc build during lv90+ endgame. :/

I do math and estimate, that for lighting stike templar choosing RT makes me more gear independent while giving me more effective DPS. I was strong against RT when I started this character in January, but playtime proved, that I was wrong.

And I like archetype build, I play templar. Templar has to have shield and 1H weapon, it's the templar, I like to play.

Anticipation slowly dissipates...
