Content Update 0.5.0 — Path of Exile 2: Return of the Ancients

This could have been handled far better if it was in the initial patch release and there could have been some clarification during the last interview on what counts as a guaranteed crafting mod. Is it just perfect essences and the new alloys? Is its all kind of essences plus whatever future crafting currency you put into the game that will then compete with each other for the spot on the craft. My half glass full to this whole change is what was said during the interview. That we could better target farm through new atlas tree like with fracturing orbs. I will give this a fair shoot but I really like the essence style of crafting.

Bring back old rapid shot!

Hell ya!
Regarding the 'nerfs' on crafting.
I do not want to sound too negative but doesnt this change make it so that only the top 0.1% of the giga-gamers really benefit? What about us old gamer dads that cant invest the same amount of hours?
I truly believe that this change will hurt the economy.

Actually it will not,, imagine your job and going to work 12 hours a day when some other dude works 30 minutes and expects the same results, what is even worse, he gets the same salary .

I personally can play like 30 minutes a da an that's where my expectation should be based on. Maybe i finish the campaign in a week maybe i dont, but me expressing some "entitlement" to get the same gear as someone who plays 12-16 hours a day and entering some tantrum, (what im not saying that you did) it would not be fair for the heavy grinders. So yes, they will have more but its like a salary, the more you work more you get. Something what majority of players in this game for some reason find atrocious even if their life is based on it.
ok , this craft situation forced on me to skip 0.5 (i did the same with 0.2 ) i back to poe1 because the same people whos making these changes in poe2 are changing poe1 , so i want little bit more enjoy poe1 before they will destroy it too.

But me being able to use 3 essences on my craft to build a useful 'good enough' item is not really what the giga-chads is going after. We are not crafting the same stuff, not by a mile :).

Could you please adjust The Inevitable Agony effect? Considering it *does not* scale with curse magnitude from Heightened Curse (which *everyone* uses in that skill), and it doesn't scale with the skill tree

Because otherwise you've nerfed the Chronomancer :(
pls, bring back the Last Lament Lich

Bosses have inherent curse resistance, this skill now bypasses that, its not a nerf, just a change that's why they changed the numbers. Should be power equal or even better that it works better mechanically
LETS GOOOO

I played with an essence talisman last league and also a mirror talisman (with +5 essence, not +7 so it could've been better). The essence weapon gave ~50-60% of a mirror tier weapon, not 90% like people claim.

Having relatively easy access to a weapon 'good enough' is a good thing. This new change just means that 95% of essences are useless and will never be used, same with the new runic crafting options.

It's already hard enough to craft a good weapon/wand without spending ridiculous amounts of currency without going the essence route. And with the crafting change, the lack of recomb, it's going to get even harder.

Hopefully they removed useless stats on most melee weapons like accuracy to compensate.
