And it's wrong to say "I want to do X and I expect the game to be fair and playable" in relation to playing in SSF mode, because your desire will be fully justified only in normal mode!
Because when you start in SSF mode, you are literally told in PLAIN TEXT that it will be more difficult, that the game is balanced taking into account the trading market and the exchange between players.

You may be told that but you don't know *how much* more difficult it is. And in general it's fair to keep the "difficulty gap" fixed. There's nothing wrong with raising the concern that the gap might widen.

Does it mean that reducing the difficulty gap between trade and SSF should be dev's #1 priority? Of course not.

Earlier, you mentioned wanting to play SSF as a way to ignore such motives as "uh this might be valuable to other people," you can run your little craft projects.", but I had similar feelings and desires in normal mode, without having to play SSF.
And many of my friends have it.

I agree. I'm just saying, it makes sense that some people would value these specific things, and default to SSF as a "i don't want to trade anyway" option. (and this choice has nothing to do with "wanting more challenge")

Perhaps, as a player who has played 3150 hours in poe 2, I do not understand this, because I have not played in poe 1 after all... who knows.

It might be a part of it. If you're burnt out of the old trade, you're more inclined to play SSF. Heck, I played SSF in 0.1 when there wasn't async trade yet.

But in general, most ARPGs offer a decent SSF experience, so you don't *expect* some giga gamer challenge mode from it.

slight... sure
You could have said right away that you don't want people to play your game!... why fool around?
First, they cut the main builds because they couldn't raise the numbers for other skills, now they cut crafting. You know, I was very happy to see changes in content, but it's not in my interests to sit on the first levels of maps just because someone has a vision of my style of play. Now, for many players, not only are 16 levels not shining, but even 10 with a good layout. Moreover, knowing what characteristics the items from the floor have, I won't even go to the league, I'll be more comfortable playing standard.

The Craft change is one of the best things they ever had in this game, it will make everything more unpredictble, crafting was too easy; it was too easy to get a perfect weapon. People only want easy things; they don't like difficulty. And now they'll cry because they won't be able to get their perfect weapons with zero difficulty.

This is exactly the reason *some* people are so angry :D It's hilarious to watch :D:D:D Kids, kids everywhere :D
In fact, this change is so inconspicuously placed that it is not even clear whether this is true what everyone implies or not. If this is an important mechanic in crafting, then it was somehow written more clearly.
There is a possibility that we misunderstood what are guaranteed crafted modifiers we'll have to wait for it.
But if it isn't a misunderstandind I'm with you guys I don't understand GGG's move, especially because it widens even more the gap between attacks and spells as casters crafts won't be really affeceted by this change.

I think you should clarify this GGG, because the community is clearly telling you that it must be 🙂
W patch.

I guess, I have a reason to log into PoE2 again!
I swear PoE players are somekind of special. They sit here and say that SSF offers remotely anything. That it's a "mental revelation".

You don't get cosmetics, harder enemies, better drops, nothing. Not even a good job pop up screen after beating everything.

It's literally just disabling trading and partying, LMAO. That's something you can easily, you know, not participate in.
"Too easy to get a good weapon," is demonstrably false. It cost currency. The deterministic crafts of mirror-tier items cost more than a mirror to craft. All this change does is nerf builds, and force players to have to sacrifice item affixes to the vagaries of a terrible mod-pool (another failure of the game). This is a pretty ignorant fix to whatever problem they were trying to address. It further cripples two-handed weapon characters, and melee is already quite difficult (expensive) to get up and running in the endgame. For the people who think this is a good nerf to crafting, consider the obvious outcome:
- new currencies will have to be better than old ones or they won't be used, but then each new league the old crafting currencies will be antiquated because you CAN ONLY USE ONE.
- high-level items will be EVEN MORE DOMINATED by a shady few groups and individuals. This heavily favors the few over the many w/r/t generating currency through trade.

Overall, an extremely myopic change that will have enormous consequences that make the game worse, not better.
GGG, please ignore those whiners & doomers. All they want is meaningless gameplay and item progression so they can beat the endgame in 2-3 days.

@whiners, it's clear to everyone but you (apparently:D) that multiple-essence crafting was too strong and needed to be addressed. Having access to insanely strong items at such a low cost was ridiculous.

Stick to the vision GGG, poe2 is the best arpg out there.
