110% agree with this. Everyone want to play meta,and practicing one week earlier to do 4 hours campaign,rush trough. And one week after start crying and say there is no content. And it is toxic especially about the market. Honestly i understand people want to play fast,because the inflation is sooooo high,and if you play slowly you feel you are staying behind... Usually i build my character myself,and thats why im slow (and playing maximum 3 hours per day). And yeah, sometimes i feel im broken because of the market prices. And its not a good feeling. But when i start a map,i enjoy it,and this is the most important thing for me...

I sometimes wish that there is a mode that allows you to trade with friends but not the market.

Why do people keep saying not to complain about the Ancestral Bond change update because Archmage is unaffected and there is spirit available? There are 7 totem skills in the game, all of which could've been affected by the originally shown and documented change, but now it's Spell Totem + Archmage/Rathpith Globe only. The other 6 totems are not more viable than before as far as we can know now, so it's not possible to make plans for them, and any plans from before yesterday had to go to the trash. I probably won't try playing (non-spell) totems anymore, maybe only complete act 1 for the free stuff and wait for the next event. If I were to go for a totem play style after all, it most likely must be Spell Totem with Archmage or something else. That is just one totem skill, "totems" could've meant multiple skills, not just multiple totems from one skill.

Totems did not look to be stronger than other contenders even before the nerf, maybe on the high end, but then why not just fix the archmage interaction if that was a concern?
What is there to fix with archmage interaction? Isn't it going to be exactly the same as it was in 0.4?
It's not broken. I guess I didn't quite communicate that well. I was more saying that I am surprised that if the reason they brought the mana cost back was to prevent mana abuse ((indigon with archmage etc)) it seems easier to target that. The way the change is now it makes archmage seem more necessary which limits the builds in an odd way to me.
But maybe their were other use cases that caused to to be a problem. Like I said honestly I just don't know how they went from "no cost" to "full cost" in 5 days. Seems like enough internal testing wasn't done or one balance team didn't agree with another.
150mana per totem is not gonna break any build. Totems have 20-30s duration dont spam them but place, move, place, move. On bosses place all totems, debuff the boss and watch it die.

Last day patch and no nerf on Twister and Snipe so rangers rejoice, questionable decisions but GGG is the boss.

those builds are fine. twister is a 5 button build and ice shot/snipe is probably just as annoying to play
i plan to level with twister just to get through the campaign faster but there is no way i am playing keyboard piano after the campaign. this is why it doesnt need a nerf. it wont be meta because its too annoying to play long term

Could you share the build that works as you described? The base duration of totems is 8s. What gives them 150-275% increased duration and how do they survive that long? Overabundance comes with 50-40% less duration. How does it clear with one totem at a time?

Yes, let's ignore that any decent totem build will have costs of over 400 mana per totem, even at the lowest we are looking at over 250 per totem.
Let's ignore that the only defense layer is gonna be mana as well as offense which means it must regenerate fast enough which it won't.
Let's ignore that you don't put one totem down and move because you won't kill anything, you put down 4 totems and then you move.
Let's ignore that bosses can kill your totems leading to the need to summon more.
If we just pretend there are no downside for totems and main a delusional idea that totems are cheap to use then everything is fine.
