Why would anyone want to play slow clunky Dark souls memes and experiment when there is option to be done with the forced campaign in under 5h?
I would. I am playing not for witnessing big explosions on a screen, but for exploring and tuning my own build of playstyle I enjoy. And you know since warrior on 0.1 I finished every league with all the activities. Since 0.3 I begin to play only semiSSF (privat league with 1-5 friends) because standart tooooo easy. Did I kill bosses in 2 sec? No. Did I finish maps in 3 mins? No. But every other more minute I spend was solely achived by myself and spend with a thing I like.
Hope some day Jonathan will freak out coz of you pathetic meta slaves and bring back his 0.1 anapologetic vision. Sad it never happens(
More interesting question for what reason u are being such meta dependent? U want more divs/mirrors then anybody? Why? U want uprades to kill boss in 2sec instead of 5? Why? What happens if u finish campaign in 12 hours instead of 5? The game will be same for rest of time. U ll be clicking few buttons and look at dying monsters with time to time upgrades. Thats it. Why 7 hours in campaign worse then 7 hours in endgame? Why are ur preferences controlled by people who playing this game for living? Questions questions questions.
Diabloid community is more toxic then any other in gaming. At least strangest.
110% agree with this. Everyone want to play meta,and practicing one week earlier to do 4 hours campaign,rush trough. And one week after start crying and say there is no content. And it is toxic especially about the market. Honestly i understand people want to play fast,because the inflation is sooooo high,and if you play slowly you feel you are staying behind... Usually i build my character myself,and thats why im slow (and playing maximum 3 hours per day). And yeah, sometimes i feel im broken because of the market prices. And its not a good feeling. But when i start a map,i enjoy it,and this is the most important thing for me...

Long time player, first time complaining about a nerf. Releasing a 180 nerf so close to launch, 5 days after patch notes feels awful.
I get it, big update, stuff falls through the cracks, but I genuinely cannot think of a single launch in the history of 1 or 2 that has felt more... disappointing? I went from a mega high on a huge content patch with my favorite build archetype ((totems to make sure we are all clear here)) being strong to just... why not play something I know I won't struggle on.
Totems did not look to be stronger than other contenders even before the nerf, maybe on the high end, but then why not just fix the archmage interaction if that was a concern? Also why such a huge change from 0 to 100% cost with no other compensation, why not still unlimited, why not cost reduction... anything. It feels so undercooked and last minute it diminishes my faith in the balance team.
And lastly it truly leaves a bad taste in the mouth to turn to youtube etc for build guides and find dozens for the same few over tuned builds that have been around for a while ((and that I have already played so they feel stale)) instead of something new like totems which were very weak last league ((I know I tried several variations of them that fell very far below my other builds)).
Guess it's time to abuse the new MA combo nodes and call it a day.

What is there to fix with archmage interaction? Isn't it going to be exactly the same as it was in 0.4?

People forgot how to play games, for many of them it's a trade simulator.

What nerf? You can't nerf something not even released. Totems are buffed from 0.4 to 0.5. Some of the overreactions here are pretty ridiculous.

Last day patch and no nerf on Twister and Snipe so rangers rejoice, questionable decisions but GGG is the boss.
Still overhyped for the leaguestart i hope there wont be so much disconnects like 0.4 start. See you around there chat.

What is there to fix with archmage interaction? Isn't it going to be exactly the same as it was in 0.4?
It's not broken. I guess I didn't quite communicate that well. I was more saying that I am surprised that if the reason they brought the mana cost back was to prevent mana abuse ((indigon with archmage etc)) it seems easier to target that. The way the change is now it makes archmage seem more necessary which limits the builds in an odd way to me.
But maybe their were other use cases that caused to to be a problem. Like I said honestly I just don't know how they went from "no cost" to "full cost" in 5 days. Seems like enough internal testing wasn't done or one balance team didn't agree with another.

What nerf? You can't nerf something not even released. Totems are buffed from 0.4 to 0.5. Some of the overreactions here are pretty ridiculous.
You'll note the main thing I focused on was changing published patch notes and how that change in expectation has had a negative impact on my feelings about the upcoming league and how I think that is something they should avoid.
I think totems are stronger now than last patch and that they will be playable. I also think the nerf was sudden and unnecessary and it has left me feeling negatively about something I had purely positive feelings about. Both can be true.
