To clarify, despite Spell Totem having the Spell tag, summoning the totem itself is not a spell

Come here..... <SLAP>. I dont know what you mean. Does it work with Archmage but takes archmages mana, im ok with that, or does it not? Or work at all?


It will still use your man but the build in unplayable because totem costs per cast are going to easily exceed 250 mana, now consider you place like 4 totems, move and 2 seconds latter you are placing down another 4.

Tell me how are player going to regen 1K mana in 2 seconds when MoM is also cutting regen in half.

GGG doesn't understands it's own game. it did a knee jerk reaction to nerf the totems like they all did so that they didn't have 0 downsides while ignoring that people were excited in a good way for the 0 downsides which is what made it playable in the first place.

It's completely dumb how totems cost several times more than a self cast spell and on top of you need to cast several times instead of once to get the same effect a self cast gets on top of having a limit to how fast they can maps because of how totems work and despite all of this, they still think that totems are too good and need nerfing when playing any good non totem build is a 1 button click, everything dies on the screen including pinnacle bosses.

Already 10th of thousand ppl gatekeeping it, and ready to start it....

SPELLS IN TOTEMS (not totems itself) DO NOT USE THEIR COST BUT INCLUDE THAT COST IN DAMAGE CALCULATION

Archmage or Burden of shadows or both etc...

Not an expert, but im pretty sure as it is for now you can just summon your totems and spam curse, and not be able to summon new ones because the life cost of them will be impossible to cast.

EDIT* not only that but you have comment in the video you posted, done by creator, that this worked based on regen from a rune which got obliterated and not working anymore xD

SPELLS in totems (not totems itself) do not use their cost but include that cost in damage calculation
There is enough workarounds about mana, ramp up cost

Oh there is? Let's look at an hypothetical scenario. 4K mana and 600 mana regen per second. That is already a mid to late game level of mana and regen by the way.

Let's say your totems cost you 125 mana to place down (which will be more as you want to at least have them at level 23. EB is now making that 250. MOM is cutting your regen to 300 and if you even dreamed for a second that you are still 50 positive. These are totems, you don't place one and let it take care of the job or you will take 20 minutes to clear the map at least. You have to place down about 4 to get to the same result as a self cast build does which is killing things in about 1 cast.

Now let's assume it takes you 2 seconds to move to the next pack and have to again recast the 4 totems. You are spending 1K mana every 2 seconds and regening 600 on top of mana being your defensive layer.

You still don't see a problem here?

Nerfs are good, but the favoritism is not. Nothing is as bad as pre-determined meta taking 60%.

If you want to nerf peoples league starters, nerf ALL campaign stompers. Twisters, grenades, snipe etc. How can these live - oh right streamer favoritism in game balancing.

Leaving few cookie cutters untouched is WORSE than not nerfing at all after patch notes.

When you pre-nerf interesting build ideas this late, that just amplifies to pick something 100% strong and misery-free in campaign. Why would anyone want to play slow clunky Dark souls memes and experiment when there is option to be done with the forced campaign in under 5h? It would be different if campaign was balanced, but you refuse to do it.

Thats why hoyoverse is multibilion dollar company, they posted stats week or 2 before, patch was ready to predownload 3 days early, they didnt care(well they did) about datamining, never changed the numbers last second. You had half a year, and you make last second changes. Always :) Im not hating here, just... disappointed. Twister and Snipe league it is. Lets 1shot some of the new bosses.

Nerf warrior xD Im not for nerfs, but for balance, in a game that has 80% of skills in the ditch. Btw we are playing a beta, if its OP - nerf it mid league, thats how you balance stuff in a beta. We really are playing the 1.0 since 0.1, Ben was right :) Isnt this the last patch till 1.0? Heres an idea - double the damage/speed of unused skills, see what people will come out with, balance mid-league accordingly. We all know 1.0 will be just 0.7.
Well they nerfed archmage totems finally but it seems like making them nerf Twister and Snipe is outright impossible. At least that way my monk will be less meta:)

I'm not complaining but nerfing some stuff and not nerfing the ones that a big majority of players highlight every day and i'm not talking about us(casuals), i'm talking about big streamers and content creators.

Still i cant wait for the league to start and i hope there wont be much disconnects and stuff
