0.5 DISAPPOINTMENT

i hate to say it diablo 4 good now, they just have straight forward direction & identity now. with path of exile 2 its having identity crisis what it wants to be with fake lame content creators like tri-talkative that fake weak beta energy should tell you everything wrong with poe 2.

agree, actually

At some point complexity stops being depth and starts becoming exhaustion.

I guess that's why i'm not hyped for 0.5, it's the same sort of problem with poe 1 that they said they wanted to fix with poe 2

Adding more stuff is GGG comfort zone, think about runes, essences, abyss bones, etc, the only time they removed something instead of adding was with flasks, but we still end up getting charms lol, i'm sure that's part of the reason why they're taking so long to remove rarity from gear too

It really stood out to me when i was watching the Q&A and they announced that they're adding 160 new runes to the game and how it seemed liked they were super proud about that

Like, i cannot imagine a world where these 160 runes are all interesting and cool enough to be its own item, we already have 3 tiers for resistances runes and you know what's the difference between each tier? 2% resistance.

Do we really need this sort of thing? I genuinely don't think so, at this point the difference is so minimal that it might not even exist in the first place

Unfortunately, GGG doesn't seem to see it in the same way.

Yup, entirely agree. I can't imagine a world where Runes even makes it onto a Pareto chart of the "vital few" initiatives that needed to be included in 0.5.

It seems to be a case of people naturally gravitating to what they like to do; not necessarily what they should be doing.

160 new runes no one wanted and new layers of crafting mechanics instead of 20 sword bases.

Never fear, you'll be able to combine these new runes to make Alteration Orbs! Things most people have loot filters set to not even show after a certain point in the game.

Might as well have spent that time adding 150 different design Scroll Fragments.
D4 has been fun for me this last week and now I'm getting bored after reaching high pit tiers and completing the simple checklists they provide.

I really hope POE2 takes no inspiration from Blizzard at all and just keeps doing what they are doing

see, as an old schoold mmo player, who played a LOT of different games, I must say that Diablo 4 is still shallow, but on the other hand it started to respect your time.

POE2 is unnecessarily complex, and 90% of that complexity comes down onto crafting, somehow....

idk, imho its not fun when 70% of your playerbase will be unable to get the most of your new unique items becasue they dont play 24/7....

D4 model and the previous titles are not a choice, it's the expansion, the equivelant of the 0.5 update in 40+ bucks, on top of the bucks you already paid for previous expansions and the base game.

That`s a stretch. LoH is nowhere near what was presented for 0.5. The only think we can argue about is how valuable new campaign is.

Does it respect your wallet?

What does "unnecessarily complex" even mean ?
Poe2 is a sequel to poe1, did you really expect them to not add a bunch of mechanics and items for crafting? The game was pretty barren for most of the beginnings of EA so of course they needed to add a ton of stuff.

You and a lot of people online basically projected your personal preferences on the game when it was a "blank slate" just released into EA, and now that its more fleshed out you act like GGG betrayed you because it didnt turn out exactly the way you wanted it to.

Didnt they release 2 new classes with all their skills and stuff along with it in the expansion tho?
