3.28 made the bugged chest problem in Standard much worse

+1 agree with nuking the bugged chest.


-1 do not agree with those demanding the nuking of Standard.

Standard is a crazy place with crazy items, yes, and that's ok.

But the bugged chest is literally a BUGGED chest.

We are happy that bug fixes also apply to Standard, aren't we?

2 - It's ironic to see how some people belittle Standard. But they're still trying so hard to prevent this chest from being fixed.

3 - This chest not only trivializes the entire game in an extremely absurd way, but it also destroys the game's variety. Any build/item that isn't related to this chest is practically worthless, it has no market value.

4 - I HAVE this chest, I can buy 4 more if I want.

Wrong. Out of all Standard-listed characters, only 53% are using a rare body armour, not 99%.

Within that subset, only about 5% are using the specific body armour in question. That puts it at roughly 250 characters out of around 18,000 listed total. That is nowhere near 99%, it is a tiny fraction of players actually using the item.

And if you actually go through those accounts, a large share of them are players who are also active in leagues. Which makes the pattern pretty obvious. These Standard characters are often not evidence of dedicated Standard gameplay, but side projects, leftover currency experiments, or meme setups rather than sustained engagement with the mode itself.

So the idea that this item is widely used or central to Standard doesn’t hold up. Even among the small group that interacts with Standard, most are not exclusive to it, and the overlap with league activity reinforces how incidental Standard really is for them.

In practical terms, the number of players who exclusively play Standard and meaningfully build around that item is extremely small. And since there is no real competitive pressure or progression incentive in Standard, the item has no meaningful impact on gameplay balance, because properly min maxed builds already delete the content anyway.

What you are really seeing is a loud interpretation of a very small dataset, amplified into something far bigger than it actually is. A tiny, tiny minority ends up feeling like they are missing out on something important, when in reality they are not.

If the bugged chest doesn't affect a lot of players, that's actually one more reason to me to nuke it.
