3.28 made the bugged chest problem in Standard much worse

I'm not here to start the discussion about the existence of the bugged chest and what should be done about it. I just want to point out that the impact of the bugged chest has dramatically increased since 3.28, and that comes with the reasonable request that we at least should hear from GGG what their opinion about it is, whatever it may be. For those interested in the discussion itself:

Opinion A: bugged chest should be removed
=> It is not a legacy item that once was intended to exist like so many others in Standard league, it is a bugged item that should have never existed in the first place. => It is the best item by far for a majority of all possible builds now, nothing else comes even remotely close. It's like using a cheat code. It kills build diversity for the absolute top-end completely. => The few people that have it have an unfair advantage: they can zoom through all content, no matter the difficulty, acquiring immense wealth which affects the overall economy for everyone else. => The price is being manipulated by a few people: the item is gated behind an oligopoly. => If removal is too hard, just cap overcapped resistance at 2000%, which will only affect builds using this item. Any other build will never get to 2000%. Opinion B: bugged chest should not be removed => It is too hard to remove / unfair to those who spent effort to get one. => Standard is full of powerful items that no longer exist. => You can play Standard ignoring it exists. => You are not even supposed to play Standard league. But now my main point: since 3.28, the existence of the bugged chest dominates Standard like never before. Before 3.28, the bugged chest was ofcourse always a defensive powerhouse, offering any build hundreds of thousands of armour with barely any investment and millions or billions for those who did invest, and via the fire mastery a very easy 25000 life regen per second (or ES regen with ZO). However, while defensively unmatched, offensively it only gave (immense) power to attack builds able to use one-handed swords, because of replica dreamfeather. We are talking about hundreds of millions and even billions of DPS though. Since 3.28, foulborn choir of the storm has entered Standard and in combination with Chieftain, bugged chest users now can also stack tons of mana and ES. With modest investment (apart from the chest and amulet), one can easily reach 50k mana or 40k ES. Top-end we're looking at 400k mana or 250k ES. On top of millions of armour and insane regen! Why is this so impactful? Before 3.28, the most optimized way to build sword attack builds was obviously bugged chest, but all other builds could still go other routes. Since 3.28, mana stackers with bugged chest are miles ahead to any other setup also for a majority of casters (because of archmage support, converting mana into dps) and also wand builds like kinetic blast of clustering that scale of mana. There are very few builds left now in Standard for which the bugged chest is not the end-game cheat-code option, far surpassing anything else you can come up with. Whatever your thoughts about it may be, I think it's fair to get an official response from GGG about this situation. I'm a long time Standard player (leagues are too inconvenient for me), but I consider quitting the game if there is only one aspirational build left (which is fine, I'll find new games). I play in Standard for optimizing builds with the vast amount of extra options we have, but it has become the contrary: only 1 setup is the best. So, GGG, what shall (not?) be done about it? It doesn't matter, literally - the bugged chest and items like that just don't matter in the slightest, because its Standard
Isolate your thoughts and mind about the bugged chest, and play how you like and optimise what you want You aren't thinking that "why would i work and care so much about my personality and skills, there are kids that have OP millionaire parents and give them everything they want..."? Standard is an illusion. It only exists as a trophy case. I think it should be deleted but GGG probably doesn't want to open a can of worms where people keep calling for more things to be deleted in standard like legacy flasks/affixes, quant, etc.

I have a better solution. Do NOT remove the bugged chest or any of its copies. Just make the resistant it gives to be as the intented number of its tier, without changing the number it displays. In that way it is not broken but still is a "collectible" item. Done.

There are a few ways to address the issue: remove Standard entirely, fix the problematic items, and, while at it, automatically update all legacy gear to their current values after changes.
But that quickly snowballs, once you remove bugged items, the next step is dealing with overpowered legacy gear that already breaks Standard. At that point, you’re not just fixing issues, you’re redefining the mode. The reality is Standard has never been a priority, it’s essentially a storage space for what carries over after leagues. There’s no competitive pressure, and content gets destroyed by everything anyway, even without legacy gear or a single bugged item, so there’s little incentive for GGG to intervene. " Standard "economy" is affected by the excessive farming of these guys, yeah right. Can't you zoom through everything with normal builds in Standard? If you can afford that chest, probably you can afford a Mageblood and a mirrored weapon with Crucible tree, what else do you need? |

Who cares about something that costs 10 mirrors?
If you have 10 mirrors and want to play with cheats you do you. Most 10 mirror builds are cheat builds anyway. |

unless you plan to tank maven memory game it makes little to no difference. mby super deep delve, but everything else you can farm with regular build.
