Too much crafting is ruining the game

They could easily solve this by either making tier 5 drops much rarer and much better or by adding a tier 6 that's extremely rare and way better.

If they want to make ground loot be worth looking at they could just add a Tier 0 for mods that can be found on ground loot but not gotten using currency orbs. Suddenly it's not just item bases that matter, it's the T0 mods that were on those bases when they dropped. Instead of white bases being the best, blues with a good T0 are better and rares that land a few better still.

You'd still use their gambling crafting mechanics to finish the items, and take risks annuling off T0 mods in crafting. Everything else would work the same, but instantly ground loot is worth picking up and paying attention to.
They are turning the game into same as PoE 1 but with guidance. However creating a guide for crafting is hard thing to do so they will just skip that part and then most of people will quit the game game again.

We don't need too much confusing crafting system or if you are doing this, you must create a guidance just like you do with end game content in 0.5
Remove direct player to player trade and 1000% anonymize async, along with some creative solutions for guild stash and playing with friends, and watch "Crafting" and the insane amount of gamba in both games solve themselves.

I was going to start with a "what?!" but you do have a point, lol

But it is the price that is an issue with market economy.

If prices were low, buying them wouldnt be an insanity as it is now (league ending with a lot of temple abuse, or group play abuse, or bots, or them all)

When currency is cheap, it's fun to craft

I did some crafts at league start that were such a nice upgrades, and I did without having to farm for a week to get the currency to use on the crafts...

While if currency is expensive... It's better to save to buy your item instead of rolling luck for it.

At least that's my take...
Not gonna lie, it's an excessively complicated headache, and I do not want to get a doctorate in path of exile crafting. It's one of those worthless diplomas that doesn't yield much income, it's just not worth it.
I couldn’t agree more. The game has drifted so far from its core “loot-hunting” identity that it’s become more of a currency grind for crafting materials. You don’t play for exciting drops anymore — you farm just to buy or craft upgrades, which completely kills the thrill of finding something good.

Divine Orbs, as the main pricing standard, don’t work either. They drop far too often but have almost no meaningful sinks in the system, which makes their value unstable and keeps the economy feeling bloated.

Was the core ever just a loot hunting game though? I remember super early in PoE1 when I first tried it as a hyper casual, all the drops were crafting currency. Always seemed to me like that was the intention, which I really like.
I don't feel like I have the energy to go through loot. Making something out of it is such a headache and is not fun at all. I just filter all items, only loot currency and buy ready items.
I agree. And the problem is blatantly obvious for a long time. So long it fact that other people had enough time to code a plug-in that actively HIDES most of ingame drops. many many players rely on it too..

I would like to see: less item drops, higher item drop value.

And I would get rid of tiered orbs again. It’s a really boring idea and unnecessarily bloats the game.

ingame crafting tutorial instead of watching randos on youtube would be nice

Yes, indeed... Unfortunately that tutorial with all the new crafting mats would be huge.. But still better than 3rd party sites/streamers...
