We need some automated system in which you put your item in, select the mods you want on it, press a button and it does it all for you, taking your crafting materials directly from your bank or the market.
I can't be bothered to play the PoE2 end endgame otherwise.

I agree. And the problem is blatantly obvious for a long time. So long it fact that other people had enough time to code a plug-in that actively HIDES most of ingame drops. many many players rely on it too..
Just FYI: Item filters are a built-in feature, not a plug-in. There is however no way to create or edit filters in-game, so you still need external tools for that.

Crafting in PoE is like a Lego or Minecraft. You get all the individual pieces but it's up to you to combine them in a clever way to create something good. Not sure if PoE2 is all the way there yet, but the basic idea is to leave it to the players to explore. Much like with builds.

I've been back into D2 playing the new Warlock, and there is a simple purity to D2 that I kind of miss. You pick up the item. Is it what I want? No? Throw it away. Yes I know you can cube magic items with perfect gems - but broadly most stuff you use until the end game is going to be floor drops and also broadly there's little reason to hang on to a bunch of crafting bases. I also don't count runewords as 'crafting" personally.
No need for a dump truck load of stash tabs to keep "in progress" items and crafting bases.
I'm not saying PoE2 needs to go D2 in that direction but I think the current crafting meta is extremely convoluted. It would be nice if random rare drops were more useful.
+1 this I agree! D2 had it locked down you find a GG unique items after heaps of grinding and you know its insane, you get the random nice eth rare items here and there but if you count runewords as crafting its so simple. POE has to many crafting mechanics and systems it gets to much

There is some sort of macro or app that does this. I don't know how it works, because I don't use it myself, but I've seen a Youtuber use it to alt-orb an amulet to get +1 skill gems on it.
Dunno if there is such thing for PoE2 though.

It's also against ToS and will get you banned.

Still no feeling quite like threads complaining about crafting being too good, easy, or accessible in a game where crafting is essentially nothing more than gambling, and so exceedingly expensive that the vast majority of players still can't afford to even try to make their first usable item when the league ends.

Oh damn. Nevermind then haha.
How are people so bold in YT using this stuff, I don't understand.

Never seen a YT where they used a macro like that. If you do, report their account to GGG.
I've seen a ton of them put the item in a stash spot, and add a edges filter, so that the item highlights when it has hit the mod you want. I do that constantly too. But that doesn't click for you, or prevent you from rolling past the mod you wanted to stop on.

Its getting boring, dropped items are worthless, uniques are generally worthless and not worth picking up only crafted stuff are worth something, only crafting items are worth picking up and the prices are insane compared to normal drops because their power levels are insane. you could add loot filter that filters out any not currency/crafting items and not lose any valuable drops.
you dont only need all you gear crafted, not only you need to drop crafting orbs on every map you also need to craft the tablets. you spend more time in your chest and trading than actually punching stuff in the face. For every map add x orbs, vaal it, hope for 16, then try to craft good tablets...
You dont get upgrades because you killed a monster and it dropped something good, you either craft them or farm boring stuff to buy them.
Its really not, though.
You're just a casual.

It sure doesn't help that they feel the need to introduce new crafting systems basically every season. Yuck. So tired of that whole aspect honestly.
