nah, armor/ev need a buff

Nah, that's the wrong direction as it makes the game way too easy by trivializing the content.

the content is already trivial, defenses don't matter unless you're trash at games

I'm glad we agree on that, thus nerfing ES moves the game in the right direction. Thanks for making my argument.

nerfing ES doesn't solve that you can 1 shot bosses in this game
that means that defenses don't matter unless you're bad at the game

there are many that are bad, so armor/ev should be buffed to reduce the amount of quitters that die to white mobs because they don't understand they have to stack 3 things to be decent with either of them

what an insane leap you made tbh

That's all or nothing thinking, let's agree to move the needle in the right direction for the betterment of the game.

These problems are solvable, just need GGG to tune things way down. For example, nerf damage to where 1 shot bosses are not possible and make changes to where defensive mechanics do matter. Then GGG can fine tune Armour, Evasion and Energy Shield to be equally viable and on a level playing field.

Let's agree to move the needle in the right direction and stop all or nothing thinking. I'll close with famous quote that is fitting here- "Don't let the perfect be the enemy of the good."

Except, historically, nothing you said has ever happened in all the time PoE 1 has existed. GGG has never brought monster stats down to be more in line with player nerfs. They dropped the biggest nuke in player balance back in Expedition league, but still defenses suck to the point that "Shapers-Per-Second" damage is all that matters.

What people who are in favor of ES nerfs fail to understand is that by making all defenses equally worthless rather than making armor and evasion viable, the only thing that matters once again is you either nuke the game before the game nukes you. And no, nerfing damage on top of everything else isn't going to be the answer. Now you've got a miserable slog rife with 1shots and the only valid defense is "don't get hit 5head".

I don't want PoE 2 to become PoE 1.
PoE players: Our game has a wide diversity of builds.

Also PoE players: The [league mechanic] doesn't need to be nerfed, you just need to play a [current meta] build!

Both are viable so the premise of this post sort of falls flat.

The fact you need to spend an inordinate sum of currency for armor and evasion to achieve the same effectiveness of ES speaks contrary to that.

You, in fact do not.

At least for armour.
