Was this league a success?

Failure - They cant even get the basic sort out despite game for a year which is Stable connectivity. Oh and the current economy is so screwed up. Kudos to the developement team for temple. 0.4 will be remembered as the highest record breaking volume of divines and mirrors drop.
Spoke to support regarding game lag via email and their reply is very "assuring" - [Removed by Support]. The game is already out for more than a year and planned release this year yet they still can't fix game performance issue and can't provide when it will be fixed either. Once the game is released and game play issue not fix i wonder what will be the excuse? From Early access -> early release ? Lol Only 4 out of 14 in my friend list played this league. 2 stopped playing after 2 weeks and the other 2 stopped in about a month. I regret purchasing the charity packs and this company definitely not get another cent from me. Last edited by WarrenT_GGG#0000 on Jan 17, 2026, 9:45:01 AM

" Wow it seems like support removed the reply that i gotten from their email support. Ok fine, this will be my reply - "Please note, I am aware Path of Exile 2 is still in Early Access and may be prone to bugs, crashes, or performance issues. The purpose of "early access" is for players to test the game to know what is require fixing. Game performance is an issue since beginning of early access and its been a year now. Where is the fix ? I can't believe the excuse is game is still in early access ??? It is out for a year and plan release this year ?? Ok cool, whatever you say GGG, Early access it is. So if game performance is still bad after full release, the excuse is going to be oh game just release and its still early? But at that point game is free to download anyway and as for we, the people that bought your packs will just have to suck it up huh ? Last edited by xAlunatic#7141 on Jan 17, 2026, 10:12:18 AM

I wouldnt call this league and success. They were not suppose to have leagues till full launch then changed it and it seems to only hurt the development of the game. There needs to be a more well rounded base crafting system, defenses need a major overhaul, abilities need more synergy if they really wanna go the combo ability route. Need more watered plants type interactions. Druid is fun but dont feel like a druid more like a sorcerer with added passives for shapeshifting. Druid needs more to feel unique and stand out as the class that shapeshifting was made for. Asscendancies are still lack luster.

NEVER has anyone destroyed a game this badly and quick as with this league. 100 divs for a Cast on Crit, 4-500 divs for a common amulet for any caster build. 2-3000! divs for a regular caster weapon. 500 divs for boots, 400 divs for gloves. Can't craft as any regular craft omen or orb is 4-5divs a pop.
Unless being a "hardcore" gamer spending most of the time online for first week, we are just inevatably locked out of any progress in this league. It's just not viable. You need currency to get gear to progress temple and you need temple to get currency. You need currency to do maps, but cant' do maps as gear is to expensive. I managed to do 2 chars 92+ and 3 chars 85+ and a few more through campaign, but not once did I ever feel I would get enough currency to be able to progress to the end of the league and THAT makes it a complete failure to such an extent I'm not sure I will give this game anymore of my time. PS. Do you even play your own game? When mobs can get lightning, elemental, proximity and 3 other stats at the same time, how the fk are you suppose to survive an boss as a caster when buffs can roll like that?. Any map is just pure RnG if you get any impossible combination and if you do, you just lost the XP of the last 10 maps and it's just poor design. DS. |

" I do think so. The Temple needs a few more QoL additions and a couple of bug fixes and a balancing pass, but it's worthy content to have in the end game in the future. Druid is well made. It's a versatile class and it's nice to have a weapon with both attacks and spells. The animations are also superb and flow well. There weren't many nerfs for once, which was kinda nice. And a few existing builds got lifted up to better viability. " This is based on mispresentation on misinterpretation of the data. Firstly, the daily peak of the first full day after the free weekend ended was 64% of what it was in the overall league peak. That's not half; it's closer to one third. Secondly, the daily peak isn't a 1:1 proxy to the amount of active players. A lot of players make extra sure to play on the first day of the league, but aren't playing every day of the week. Ergo, the drop in active playerbase is less than the drop in daily peaks. Thirdly, when games - especially so for MMOs, ARPGs and looter-shooters - have a big content update or are doing a free weekend or are launching, it's very common that they have big numbers for a few days that quickly taper off, though granted, the effect is typically larger for PoE. But for example: Destiny 2 had its previous expansion launch on Tuesday, December 2nd. And next Tuesday it was down to 58% from the initial peak - and there was no weekend to boost the expansion launch numbers. Warframe had a similar situation a week later from that. I think it's really more about that there just isn't all that much content in PoE2 yet. We're missing four classes/weapons, two acts, and have like a third of the end game content and league-derived content that PoE1 has. There just isn't all that much to play for, unless you are into endlessly upping your build in ever smaller amounts at a time so that you can do content ever so slightly faster. " I don't think it was intended and I don't think it's generally contested at all that it wasn't a bad thing. But I think it's an exaggerated thing, that is currently masking deeper reasons for why it felt so bad to many players. Essentially, the Temple made a good scapegoat for frustrations that are entrenched deeper. " I enjoy playing the game and enjoy using the skills I am currently using. Are there big balance issues - sure. I'm not surprised, given the degree of complexity we are dealing with here and the fact that it seems that the designers and balancers are currently in the phase of establishing the teams and the team ways of work. " I have often thought that GGG does too big nerfs at once. That being said, I do think it's generally better in this specific context, for these two specific games (PoE1 and 2), to focus on making the majority of balance changes in the 4 month cycle and making them relatively big. Could do smaller nerfs tho. Like anyone who has the tools to think critically of game balance in the light of the actual numbers of it and who plays this game and knows it well enough, could have told them that e.g. the Perfect Strike nerf after 0.1 or 0.2 is going to mean no one ever uses Perfect Strike. After that they've made tiny buffs in the next league which have done nothing to lift the skill to viability. " Tbh from the title and the first few sentences alone, I kind of knew it is going to be a vent topic. Question - since the game is an atrocity and shit and made for weird masochists, why do you care enough about it to come to its forums to tell that it sucks and if you happened to like this league, you are basically one of 5 people? Like are you trying to shame the people who happen to like playing this? |

Based on the temple fiasco, that would be a hard no, not a success.
