4 months cycle development is not working
" And I think the complete opposite. Drive and enjoy your amazing new Poe2car and get that Poegirl out of the car. I'd put Poe on maintenance mode, restarting or repeating leagues already created and voted on by the community, and dedicate all resources to finishing Poe 2. And when Poe 2 is released with version 1.0, if it's in their best interest, they can do something about Poe 1. There have been many years of content in Poe; it's time to move forward with the new game. Adapt or die, it's that simple. GGG doesn't have enough staff to maintain both games at a high quality, and Poe is hindering and slowing down the development of Poe 2. |

LMAO see how that will keep working out for business if more keepers like league rolls with the poor resources they gave to poe1.
The worst league ever in retention. Lets see how "shh let them put more on poe2" works out when they keep releasing keepers v2/v3/v4.. the other game literally has nothing for monetization, it's a paid alpha with no endgame and tons of flaws. If anything it's poe1 that is keeping the ship alive for the other game My cynical side of me is already wishing that they follow the "just throw all resources on the other game" just to see everything burn down "Parade your victories, hide your defeats. Mortals are so insecure."
"The strange voice showed Aul a future where his legacy was forgotten, where new cultures broke themselves upon Aul's ruined world." Take me back when poe was the actual focus. |

I've said before that I think triple G bit off more than they can chew with this, relatively fast rhythm. Then again, I don't know of a similar attempt/trend in the (arpg) gaming industry and am all for pioneers pushing the boundaries. You have to break some eggs to make an omelette and being Cpt. Hindsight is not all that useful.

" i feel like theres an element here were while poe2 is being developed, as has been said acts, monsters, bosses, the core game, while theyre still building that they cant put as much into poe1 as they want to long term. thing is that pulls in 2 directions right? cause if you pull resources from poe2 to better server poe1 now then you prolong poe2s development and that means poe1 will have to suffer for longer. personally i would be fine with them just defunding poe1 and ignoring it to get poe2 finished asap and then we can finally get into the 4 month cycle. but im not everyone, the people not interested in both games will always be frustrated by the other suffering right now. cause thats the thing, were not in the 4 month cycle really. we are in A 4 month cycle, we are not in THE 4 month cycle where we have 2 complete core games getting 4 month leagues built for them. that hasnt happened yet, poe2 is still in development, so we are still in limbo. i find the claim its not working odd, because what isnt working? both games are being worked on, poe is being developed and is moving closer to the point where it can be released and they can start alternating leagues? i feel like the only way that cant be working is if progress on poe2 is not quick enough and the answer there is draw more resources away from poe1, because this is a temporary situation that is not ideal for either game and the goal surely is to get to the other side of this situation? i dunno. i think not liking keepers of the flame is not how we should be judging this arrangement, i think how far is poe2 from being ready to just settle into league updates and expansions is the only real metric here because until that happens we cant get to the proper alternating league cycle. I love all you people on the forums, we can disagree but still be friends and respect each other :)

" That would be sensible and it was in fact what had happened. However, the problem is, they showed that if they are given a finger they will take a hand, in other words, they would start coming up with new stuff (mechanics), adding things they previously couldn't. Honestly, I don't think focusing solely on POE2 development would make much a difference. |

yea we want less LUL

3 months cycle is crazy for both games. its way too taxing on developers and gamers. as everyone said 6 month would be the sweet spot with 3 months of cycling between poe 1 and 2.

Gentlemen, we are not in a 4 months cycle.
We are in 2 weeks dev cycle for Path of Exile. And 3.5 months dev cycle for Path of Exile 2. RIP Path of Exile. 1. 2 weeks?
uh. The opposite of knowledge is not illiteracy, but the illusion of knowledge.

If they can cook all that in 2 weeks, then that's really impressive.
