Something is terribly wrong with Shaders since 3.27

So a clean install basically lasts for 4-5 hours before the issue returns.
Not sure what else I can do to troubleshoot/fix it, myself.

Sadly looks like I'll have to give up on this league.
The game is total unplayable and looks like nobody care of it, gl in next league

in last 5 league, i played 3 of them. except the Game mechanic i had issue (drop, endgame), i had NO ISSUE WITH SOFTWARE PERFORMANCE.

This game is 12 years old now, and while they have certainly made upgrades to it, there's no excuse for performance like this.

I can run way "heavier" games on this pc with extremely fast loading times. It's wild that they allowed it to get to this state. POE1 should not have these crazy loading times.

Agree! I can run "Overwatch 2" 100-120+ fps, but somehow PoE1 doesn't want to work properly. DX11? Lags. Vulkan? Artifacts. DX 12? Destroys my SSD.

Overwatch 2 is made to run on potato PCs. Recommended specs are low-end i5 and i7, and GTX 1060/1650. Those are low budget tier components. Not remotely the same thing.

PoE supports up to 16 logical processors, aka. threads, and is very CPU heavy. A better CPU carries you much farther. It can actually fully utilize my 9800X3D. Even so, with the right build, it will still be bottlenecked by a 9800X3D in 4k. Ask me how I know.

Your PC is not only kind of ancient, it's also way below low budget tier. A GTX 1060 6GB, the current king of low budget tier on the used market, not accounting for the lack of driver support in the future, is twice as fast as your GPU. The ~€100 i5-12400F is almost 3x as fast as your current CPU. It's not hard to make a strong budget PC with second hand parts.

PoE is constantly evolving, and thus hardware requirements become more demanding. You can complain that your toaster PC isn't up to par and blame the game for it, or you can invest a little on the low end and get something more longer lasting. That is, assuming you can spare like $200 to spend on PC parts. As it stands, the GTX 10-series reached end of life support as of October 2025, but the 16-series, i.e. 1650/1660 Super, will continue to receive support. Windows 10 support will also cease with October 2026.

I'd say it's beyond time you upgraded your PC. You can't reasonably expect the devs to continue to develop for potato tier PCs. You can get a 1650 Super pretty cheap these days, though better alternatives exist, i.e. the Intel Arc series that is great value for money and fits right into your budget tier. Upgrading to Intel LGA 1700 socket and something like an i5-12400F should cost you around €100 in second hand parts (based on my local used market, but in the US parts are always cheaper). You can go Ryzen if you want to, but that CPU in particular is great value and Intel is less desired now, so prices have dropped. Plays well with PoE, too (I once owned one).

How about you educate yourself on the topic first. I've been building my own PCs since 2012, mainly around PoE, and I browse various tech forums on the daily.

Shader spikes is normal when the game loads assets. They go away over time and reset with every new patch or when you change GPU drivers, lol. This is why you run the "wait for preload" command if you can't handle the issue. Refer to the above.

Then how do you explain all the people with top-tier PCs still having the same problems? Its not anyone's PC. Its the game that has bricked shaders.

Optimization is important, also don't just assume anyone in the world can order any PC part they desire. Depending on where you live and your country's currency that can be extremely expensive or straight-up impossible. Some of us gotta use what we have had for years. I'm personally waiting for the Steam Machine since its better than my PC and if its affordable and shipped worldwide I'm just gonna try to get that lmao, because why spend 2000-3000 on building a custom PC when I can just buy a little box that's basically a good gaming PC for way cheaper. I only care about 1080p 60fps anyway, even if I had a bigger monitor I will never play in 4k or higher than 60 fps, because I don't need it.

Hopefully they focus on optimization next patch, since it seems like they actually did some for PoE 2's newest patch.

Makes no sense that PoE ran perfectly fine on all these different people's PC setups, and suddenly this patch its completely broken with infinite shader bar being full and long loading screens. That's just bad optimization.

Such as? I have a top tier PC myself and no issues after shaders have been recompiled. It's people running new content that hasn't been compiled yet, paired with the wrong settings, then take it as terrible performance at face value.

That is why I specifically mentioned parts of low cost but high value that are still quite mainstream options in other countries. Did you see me mention anywhere to get a 3080, 4070 Ti, 5090? No? Because I didn't.

Just take one look at Steam's hardware survey and see what most people are using. It's not hard to then make reasonable recommendations based on that. Take another look at their PC and then come back to complain about performance. What I said is not an unreasonable suggestion at all. My sister isn't even a gamer and I built her a better gaming machine from spare parts for her office work, with a 1650 Super budget card and an i5-9400F. Which is literally better in every way than what OP is using.

Because with that statement you just showed you have absolutely no clue how to build a PC or what a PC costs to build.

And that is the core problem in a nutshell demonstrated in this thread: People with no clue about hardware or software blaming the game for their crappy PC that could be fixed with a handful of specific inexpensive upgrades.

It's irrational to expect the devs to keep optimizing for outdated trash hardware that no one even wants to buy second hand anymore. People often give this type of hardware away for free or for very little cash, because nobody actually wants to pay for it.

Look, I don't blame anyone who lacks the budget, but don't come crying to say the problem is the game. It isn't, and it's time to accept that and learn that budget means budget. Expecting decent performance from a 2GB VRAM GPU and an outdated quad-core CPU is straight up ludicrous.
