Waystone sustain
" Boss always drop waystone, and with 100% increased waystones on map boss drops always drop 2 waystones. |

" Definitely not. |

From my experience at the start of 0.3.0, your atlas passives and tablet mods do very little to increase waystone drop chance. I had back then a 3 tower setup all with waystone chance, and a maxed waystone chance on atlas and couldn't keep up. Sometimes even bosses didn't drop the "guaranteed" waystone.
The thing that changed it from severe lack to overabundance is the number of mods on the map itself. It seems like it has more weight than atlas + tablet. Now that I run 6 mod maps and zero tablet mods for waystones, and I respecced atlas passives that give waystones except those needed for pathing, I have an average balance of +2 waystones per map (-1 entry, +1 on map, +2 on boss). TLDR: +chance on atlas and tabs = scam. More mods on map = good. |

seems fine to me

" This is just my thoughts, but this game is designed to be a slot machine first and foremost. You can run out of waystones, because they want waystones a minor prize from the slot machine. A slot machine that never pays out isn't fun and one that always hits a jackpot doesn't keep the player. If just getting a map is a struggle, then getting a map with the right mods has value. If the right mod have value, then t16 mod maps have a ton of value. If you aren't interested in learning to sustain waystone, don't. Play only the parts of the game that are fun, and when you stop having fun, quit and play some other game. If you run out of waystone, reroll a different character. Honestly endgame is trash right now anyway. Last edited by darrenrob82#3531 on Oct 10, 2025, 11:58:08 PM

" Happy for you, here is mine. After some testing I believe they fiddled with the numbers and either messed up which would be a possibility considering all the non-existent ritual tablet reports or made it this way on purpose to push people into harder content. With +200 increased chance bosses drop mostly 2 waystones, sometimes 3 and sometimes 1 at least in my game. I have zero points in boss tree but I think those few percents would hardly made any difference. I have all strongbox nodes and cartographer node picked up, yet the last time I saw cartographer strongbox was 4 days ago. Again, I can sustain just fine but what are the newcomers with limited resources supposed to do? Go to interlude and climb the ladder all over again? Drops were not this way in previous version. ![]() |

" People keep responding to me as if I am crying about being unable to sustain and don't want to "LEARN" don't want to improve. This is so arrogant. I'm talking about the philosophy behind the game design. I can sustain my waystones, I know all about the solutions. I'm saying the game doesn't need to be designed that way, and infinite normal waystone stock on NPC doesn't affect 99% of the players who are so adamant at defending the higher-end juiced waystone sustain. It's a little hard for me to understand why people want to refute suggestions that don't affect them at all. :( |
|
" Well, even though I gave this suggestion my +1 already, I can understand where the people are coming from. You say sustain is not a problem for you and it's probably not a problem for 99%+ players in endgame. So even though theoretically possible, almost all players will never run out of maps. So it seems the design is enough to do, what it should: Providing enough maps. I think the reason that you can't just buy them infinitely is, that this can maybe be abused. THink about it: Buying 3 T14 maps, combining them for a T15 and you got yourself a T15 map within just 30 seconds. This way, you would have an infinte supply of maps you can craft until you get perfect modifiers. You then can sell this maps for a good price or use it yourself. The only solution I could come up is, that you can't modify or combine bought maps from vendor. |
|
" This guy gets it. People already spend way too much currency trying to get perfect maps and brick their own sustain by throwing out too many they can't be bothered to do. Every couple days I sell the extra 20-30 maps that I simply don't need. |
