Waystone sustain
" - You can buy waystones from NPC - You can buy waystones from other players - Bosses drop waystones most of the time - Monsters can also drop waystones, usually leading to 1-3 waystone drops per map - you can increase waystone drop chance through atlas skill tree - you can further increase way drop chance with increase item quantity with precursors - you can combine 3 lower tier maps to get a map with 1 tier higher - you can run white or blue maps if you constantly fail to finish maps with 4+ modifiers - you can do expeditions and go for chests that drop waystones - you can skill atlas tree for strongboxes, which can also drop waystones - worst worst worst case you can clear interlude maps and find another map there (not recommended) I think the game offer tons of ways to always have waystones in your stash. I have so much low tier maps and rushed through tier15. And I'm definitely a noob in this game. Haven't cleared any tier4 uber bosses yet and sometimes struggle with normal bosses that have to much +1 level. That said, I never ran out of maps. |

Sure it does, it worked fairly well in 0,3, not so much now. Did you gentlemen consider the possibility that the game might be bugged in such a way that it doesn´t work the same way for everyone? |

" I know all these solutions. I'm not looking for solutions. I'm just stating what I'm observing and saying I hate this design. |

I think just now is balanced.
During interludes you get some waystones. You can buy waystones to Doriany every time you get a new level. You can use reforging bench to get the next level waystones. All maps has a boss now (high probabilities to drop waystones of the next level). You can buy them on the marketplace. Also you can increased the probabilities to get waystones assigning points in the Atlas Tree. Use it, not forever if you don't want. I have more waystones that I can use. I would like to use reforging bench to reroll T15. But, I understang what you say. I would let Doriany always sell Normal waystones of all tiers. " But if you really run out of maps with all these options, then something is definitely going wrong on your end. I really don't want to sound offensive, but maybe try to optimize your build or play a little bit more careful if you constantly lose maps because of death. I know that this is the feedback section. But feedback is always very subjective and sometimes the problem isn't found within the gamedesign, but within the player or his choices. I had the same problem once too because I played a terrible build, couldn't clear maps very efficiently and died many times too. But I knew that was my fault, because I never tried to optimize my build at all. Once I did that and played it a little bit more safe, map sustain wasn't any problem anymore. " Are you clearing the map before you fight the boss? I've found Abyssal rares drop waystones sometimes. SSF Rise of the Abyssal Ice Strike Invoker, high survivability and fast clear speed. Deprioritize armor and resistances; prioritize crafting a weapon and faster start of ES recharge. Build is shown at level 47, end of Act 3. It tore through Act 3 like butter. https://poe.ninja/poe2/pob/ba84 Last edited by DistributedAutomaton#5739 on Oct 10, 2025, 10:28:00 AM

" As I said, I'm not looking for a solution, I know the solutions and can thus sustain my waystones. The point, is that I don't like this design. Why can't the design be such that no matter what a player does, the player will NEVER run out of waystones? And the solution is simple, it's not even like it needs to change anything else in the game and affect a lot of people: just give infinite vendor stock on T1-T15 normal waystones. The point is that POE2 is designed, very deliberately, to make sure that there are traps a player can fall into and cause a bad experience, and seemingly only for no good reason. And I don't like that in a game. |

" It's true, if you shoot yourself in the foot, you're going to have a bad time. If you're not succeeding on waystone sustain, then it's a you problem because as others have said, there are numerous ways to do it. |
|
|
And if those numerous ways don't work as they should because incompetent developers are releasing untested patches that is also you problem.

" I mean, I wouldn't mind GGG implementing unlimited maps to buy at NPC. For me, it wouldnt change anything and I guess for 95% of the players as well. So you get my +1, because it doesnt make the game worse and maybe for some players easier/better. |
