I'm almost positive Jonathan has gone on record saying they flat out don't listen to feedback, which uh.......doesn't really work in a EA game.

I've heard the opposite recently in one of the interviews. They said they do look at feedback in many places, and many changes they've made every season in both games, proves that's true. They may ignore a lot, but they do listen to a lot of suggestions, too.

The problem I feel is that if they are, they clearly aren't caring about the feedback. There's no reason why so many things should be gutted or weak after 2 leagues of being told "please buff X or Y".Hell deadeye being in the place it is because of how the game is designed should tell you what they aren't doing.

What are you talking about? 0.3 is pretty much completely made out of community feedback. The game has many problems, but this isn't one of them
also not sure what your actual issue is - sure deadeye is easy to level and play --> a good choice for a league starter

but it's far from the only valid and powerful build.

also as others pointed out - the 0.3 patch has been the best one so far if we're talkinbg about considering and implementing community feedback

If there was as much balance as you're claiming there is, more people would be playing more builds. Go watch SirGog's recent YouTube video. By far, most people are playing one build, and there is a core reason for that. Period. I don't know what you're trying to argue or defend here. Having such a large scale imbalance in classes and skills is a huge issue.

There is indeed a core reason for that. It's strong and popular, and it's what most people started the league with

Mortar is strong, but not popular. How many people are playing that?

The thing is that it's not the same situation as 0.2 where lightning spear was so far ahead that playing anything else felt meaningless. There's imbalance, but there's also a lot more viable choices

There could be more, yes, but with a patch that changed the whole gem system it's not that easy to get things right

This is a perfect comment because without a doubt the #1 reason people play so few builds is precisely because instead of coming up with your own ideas you guys all just go watch YouTube or Twitch and let some stranger tell you what to play. No amount of balance is going to account for your lack of originality or your insistence that the only way you can possibly enjoy the game is by playing the build that is currently the most powerful despite the existence of countless other builds that are more than capable of clearing the content (and the fact that half of you will be back in a week talking about how bored you are because you cleared all the content too fast).

Setting that aside, anyone who claims that GGG isn't listening to player feedback is absolutely off their rocker (if they were ever on it to begin with). Literally the last hotfix they applied nerfed ground effect damage in direct response to player feedback. This was the #1 complaint so far in 0.3.

See also: ascendancy switching, multiple attempts at pinnacle bosses, more Waystone portals/retries, expanded crafting options, reduced travel times with more checkpoints, smaller maps, and sprinting, Rares visible on the map to eliminate back-tracking, the fucking in-game market. Literally most of the large game-changing features they have added in EA have been in direct response to player feedback so forgive me but you guys look like a pack of absolute clowns sitting here debating about whether or not they ignore players just because they're not doing exactly what you personally want.

no dude, the skills aren't balanced well. that's why they keep adjusting them. i've made a few builds already to test it out and yeah its night and day for some skills/class it's really easy to see if you make a deadeye and then ANYTHING ELSE.

I have never seen someone genuinely act as if everyone is wrong when addressing criticism like you. No,the game is in no way balanced right now.A veteran and a 5 year old playing this simultaneously could tell you that, hell I could tell you that.Stop pretending everything is ok and trying to shut people's critique's down every time you post something.

How can you confidently say something so blatantly wrong

Because we're three leagues in and have had the same problems through all 3 in varying degrees.

Just because YOUR feedback and complaints haven't been addressed, doesn't mean they're not listening, maybe the Devs just disagrees with your feedback and complaints.

Your opinions and feedback are somewhat entitled to be heard, but not entitled to be addressed.

Deadeye is the meta (by a LONG shot) for a reason.

It was the most publicized build at launch.

You have no idea what the most played build is. GGG might release those figures, but they might not. POE2 Ninja only reports the toons on the ladder, which are going to be heavily influenced by Day Minus-One streamer analysis.

Deadeye isn't even the "meta" for all leagues. Lich edges out Deadeye in HC, which should already tell you there's more than one very strong build.
SSF Rise of the Abyssal Ice Strike Invoker, high survivability and fast clear speed. Deprioritize armor and resistances; prioritize crafting a weapon and faster start of ES recharge. Build is shown at level 47, end of Act 3. It tore through Act 3 like butter.

https://poe.ninja/poe2/pob/ba84
There are a # of issues, but I really hope they ignore everything and completely focus on endgame for 0.4 like they mentioned. Scrapping this atlas and implementing a real endgame system will be the best thing to happen to PoE2, mark my words.

Other issues: There are some builds that function as well as(or better than) Deadeye. But the reason they function is 1) screenclear and 2) movement speed. There are a ton of skills that are plain bad early game. Why are they available early game? If you have 5 skills available but only 1 will get you through Act 1, that's a problem. Players cannot really come up with something as they play and it at least make it through the campaign without serious frustrations. Frustrations that will cause a lot of the new players to go "oh well, guess this game isn't for me". I'd like to see some newbie pick up the game and make it to act 4 without having to know "ok, I need flat damage on every ring and gloves. And I need to use skill X". When they get to the end(the start for the rest of us) and get hardstuck on T3 maps then that is understandable.
