Anti-Scam Feature for Trade Market
It's kind of incredible that people don't understand the concept of a forum in 2025. If you can't stand having other people criticize and or disagree with your ideas, send a private email to GGG instead of posting it publicly.
This isn't your personal private website for nobody else's use, OP. |

" With respect, I don't take issue with constructive criticism. But, when people come in simply to be blatantly condescending to me, that's when I take issue with it. The first poster was being an ass and the second one was giving examples that had nothing to do with what I was posting about and clearly hadn't read what I was saying when he made his first post. I don't feel like I'm being unreasonable when I push back on nonsense like that. Last edited by rawdmon#8799 on Sep 6, 2025, 2:27:12 AM

" I get what you're saying, but it would be very easy to make this togglable in the game settings, it's not like you'd be forced into using anything that they add for this. Just because you don't want it doesn't mean that there aren't other players out there who would want it. And again, as I said in my post, 10 divs is nothing for me and I'm not butthurt about it or whatever. I'm just thinking of this from the standpoint of a new player who makes the same mistake and it ends up being very expensive for them at their relatively early point in the game. That could completely ruin their experience with the game early on. This mentality of "we don't need any handholding at all, you should never make mistakes, you're an idiot if you do and you got what you deserved" is so toxic. Yes I made a mistake (I've admitted that), and yes I'm going to be more careful in the future, which I've also said several times. I don't see how that invalidates my general suggestions that I'm making. I also don't understand how improving the game experience around this is a negative. How does this hurt your game experience exactly if there's an optional option added to address this concern? Have you not considered the fact that this scam will become more and more common if nothing is done to deter the scammers and then we'll be dealing with minefields of rigged tabs? Some people seem to just complain on here for the sake of complaining, with no real substance to the complaints. Almost this entire thread has been about bashing me from the get go with no regard for how my suggestions might improve the game and the trade economy (by deterring scams like this). having a popup seems reasonable. like maybe you "buy" all the items and verify it before it fully completes so you don't have to deal with a million popups if you're buying a bunch of things.

" Thank goodness that you're here to repeat what has already been said in here several times. |

The obvious solution, imo, is to allow fixed prices for merchant tabs, just like how the premium tabs work, and show the buyer that the tab does indeed have a fixed price for all items in it.
I assume they skipped that feature for now to prioritize more pressing issues and will circle back to it by 0.4 or when it will be launched for PoE1. For now, just be careful and remember that the only thing that carries over to next league is your knowledge and experience, both of which you are still gaining. |

" That would be a fair approach as well, though you wouldn't really know if the item is in one of these tabs until you're there. Last edited by rawdmon#8799 on Sep 6, 2025, 2:39:05 AM

" I very CLEARLY said, in my reply, that I read your entire post. I'm sorry that your critical thinking skills are lacking here. I gave examples of me making costly mistakes in game, learning from those mistakes and moving on. It was my way of saying "we all make mistakes" but you keep insisting that you bear no responsibility in your voluntary exchange with another player. It was those dang scammy scammers. I'm sorry that you can't see that you made any mistakes in the aforementioned purchase. It seems that a lot of other people do see those mistakes. I'm sorry that, as a result of your mistake, you want GGG to childproof all trades with labels and/or pop ups. 97 Blood Mage, 96 Gemling, 96 Deadeye, 93 Invoker, 92 Amazon, 92 Stormweaver, 91 Smith of Kitava

" What you said in your second post (your claim that you read my post) and the content of your first post don't correlate with one another. The stuff you said in your first post has absolutely nothing to do with what I said in my post, which is why I'm saying that you didn't read what I was saying initially. You were saying that I had buyer's remorse because I bought the wrong item with the wrong stats, which if you had read my post you would clearly have known is not what happened. And again, I've admitted my mistakes many times in this thread. You're beating a dead horse and you're completely missing the point that I'm making about how these scams will likely worsen over time and become more prolific if nothing is done to deter them via game systems changes. Also how this impacts the overall trade experience for newer players. Last edited by rawdmon#8799 on Sep 6, 2025, 4:34:40 AM
