WTF is wrong with r/POE r/POE2 subreddits?
" I think things changed since the mods saw that if they allow blowback (in my opinion fully earned by GGG 3.15 and the like) on there the devs no longer grace the subreddit with their presence so they started the crackdown on any but the mildest criticism and banter in hopes the devs come back if they sanitize the sub enough. POE2 should be the ruthless vision experience and POE1 should be the zoom power fantasy sandbox to capture both audiences. I petition to return all the fun stuff that was removed or nerfed over the years back into POE1. Last edited by Bosscannon#3325 on Jul 11, 2025, 7:15:56 AM

" Well yeah, you wrote 'L*me' - its a serious bannable offensive and illegal in some countries |

" What blowback? never was here for that drama |

" This 100%. GGG are ultra sensitive. You can't criticize them in the slightest on these forums either. One small criticism and they will either delete your post or edit it. And as always will use their "code of conduct" as an excuse. A code specifically made to not allow criticism. |

" Use google to find the old posts. Look at 3.15 patch notes comments on here or on reddit. TLDR is people were not happy with changes. Many changes from that patch still haunt the game and make it more tedious than it needs to be. POE2 should be the ruthless vision experience and POE1 should be the zoom power fantasy sandbox to capture both audiences.

" nah, you can critize all you want in a moderate language on here, i am pretty sure about that. But when you start your thread title with: What **** came up with that ****, already insulting devs then removing parts of the post is understandable, lmao... Reddit mods are volunteers. They don't get paid. So the only reason someone would want to become one is to exert some level of their will over others.
Sort of like a hall monitor in elementary school, back when that was still a thing. The other thing to keep in mind is that anyone can become a mod. No experience required. -Google search of "how do I become a reddit mod": "By creating your own community When you create a community, you automatically become the top moderator of that community. By making a request If a community you’re interested in has been abandoned or is unmoderated, you can make a request in r/redditrequest to take it over. If your request is granted, you’ll become the top moderator of that community. By requesting an invitation If you'd like to moderate an existing community, ask one of the community's existing moderators if you can join them. If they’d like to add you to the moderator team, you’ll be sent an invitation. Many communities actively look for moderators too, so you can also visit r/needamod to see who needs help." Last thing to mention is, the creator of the community owns it. They get to decide who moderates and to what extent. So, who made the POE community way back in 2011? I poop, therefore I am.

Not sure about the POE2 subreddit. But the POE1 subreddit runs an AI bot that logs "negative comments". You build up too many over short period of time you get banned for a time. Then a perma ban.
Negative just has to be you don't like something about an update. Or maybe talking about leadership of POE as a whole. Dont even have to use bad words or call being those bad words. Just needs to be in a negative tone. Its the reason while a post might get good upvotes. It has low comments. Most of the people are waiting for their temp ban to end. |

" language has nothing to do with it. you can swear on here. they don't censor that. they will do damage control on here and remove your entire thread sometimes. best recent example of this was entire threads poofing and probations for mere mention of a famous person on here. |

I'm permanently banned on poe sub with a ludicrous list of post examples. Any sort of negativity now get you temp banned, and then perma'd if you persist.
The saddest part is, I genuinely believe what the current crop of mods are doing is how the game dies. You just have to play this out over a long enough timescale. POE became POE because of the push-pull between devs and player base, and that player base is now being deleted by people who probably think they're doing the right thing. I've been active in the sub for many years, and I'm not a shit human. I don't do shit human posts. The overwhelming majority of my posts were constructive. But I'm unashamedly negative when I think negatively of something. If I've been perma'd, I can only imagine how many other active members have been as well. There is no recourse. |
