"join us for more quality of life improvements" aka poe 2 ification of poe 1

This is exactly what I feared would happen.

PoE 2 received backlash and lost players, so instead of learning from their mistakes, GGG instead went on and applied PoE 2 to PoE 1.

I dun have access to your join date, but your post history starts November 2022.

My join date is September 2011. I've seen a lot go on in the development of PoE which you haven't.

Trust me, bro. =9[.]9=
Since you enjoy looking at other people's profiles let's take a look at yours. Your achievements tell a interesting story. You haven't really played / engaged with the game in years yet somehow believe having joined in 2011 gives you some sort of credibility. Interesting.

Remind me in two weeks when the patch notes are out. I'm looking forward to your expertise.

I haven't played/engaged with the game in years? I'm still enjoying the tail end of Settlers, at my own pace, in my own way. I don't chase Achievements; the ones I get are almost invariably a natural consequence of my "engagement."

You do you, and I'll do me, okay? As for my "expertise," I might be right, based on all those years of observing PoE's development, or I might be wrong. No need for a bunch of keyboard commandos to get their knickers in a twist over an opinion. =^[.]^=

I'm absolutely done with these devs and this game.

probably for the best m8.

the amount you dont like these games and these devs just makes you spending time being here thinking about these games, caring about them, it just makes it pointless and unhealthy. for you, for them, for all of us who have to read posts like this.

why put yourself through it? i have times when im like u know what? fk X game and its devs. i got to that point with diablo 3, so i left their forums, never posted there again. i still dont have anything substantially positive to say about blizzard to this day. so i get it, sometimes a game and a dev studio just isnt for you m8, nothing wrong with that. dont waste your time and energy giving a shit about things that dont bring you joy, gaming is a hobby.

log off, go get a better hobby that makes you feel positive and inspired, dont look back. you deserve better in your life than being this negative and upset about some meaningless game.
I love all you people on the forums, we can disagree but still be friends and respect each other :)

@Ray: you're an alpha and I remember you posting regularly since way way back in the beta days, so benefit of the doubt.

But I ask you.....what would they need to balance? How? In what ways does a pause function directly affect any aspect of the game? How is it such a game-altering QoL to be able to pause?

The ONLY thing I can think of is MAYBE the start of a legion encounter: you can pause and spy all the directions at the very beginning of the encounter to see where you need to move first. But that's the extent of it. The pause doesn't help you complete the actual encounter. I can't really think of ANY other scenario where the ability to pause would fundamentally change anything you are doing or encountering...
Starting anew....with PoE 2

You never ran a 8 mod map. You never corrupted a map into a Vaal Temple nor did you corrupt a skill gem into a Vaal skill gem. You never used a Vaal fragment and never killed Atziri. You defeated 1 out of 5 masters foe's. You never killed a 5 essence mob. You never socketed a single void stone into your atlas. You never killed any of the Breachlords, Shaper, Elder, Sirus, Maven, Exarch or Eater of Worlds. Not even the Black Star. According to that data you effectively haven't engaged with new / league content since at least 2016. Your highest character is level 91.

Yeah. It looks like you haven't really engaged with the game or it's systems in a very long time.

You are level 91 and have 12 challenges. What exactly are you enjoying there? The scenery? Because it sure as heck doesn't look like you are playing Settlers.

Respectfully living in the forums doesn't give you the insight about GGG you think it does.

How on earth do any of this information disqualify his ability to know GGG's behavior? So he's not as "elite" as you, but how the hell does that translate to believing GGG will do certain balance adjustments because of the pause function?

I'm flabbergasted.

I just love to see it when players, who clearly and evidently barely played the game beyond the campaign, come around and tell us about the negative ramifications of GGG adding highly requested QoL. But hey, they've been around since 2011, they know for sure how GGG operates am I right?

Is pausing the game a "highly requested QoL"? Never used it in PoE2, will probably never use it in PoE1.

Anyhow, when it comes to how GGG operates, I'll trust a player that has played the game since 2011 casually way more than I trust a 40/40 newcomer, that has barely experienced patches, leagues, META shifts, directional/philosophy changes. But hey, that's just me. I don't think doing Uber bosses is a prerequisite of knowing GGG.

But hey, we are all different.

Personally, I don't think they'll do any balancing because of the pause function, but this whole personal vendetta you're on just because you're disagreeing with him is kind of ridiculous IMO.
