Maybe yoiu've seen a lot, but for sure you didnt understand anything if you think GGG suddenly will rebalance entire game around players having access to pause.
They dont have time for such useless thing.
pause technically comes from PoE1, the tech has been there since Ultimatum league. Just saying.

They have the tech, and its painless and fast to implement, so they do it to suggest them actually being working on poe1 (lol)

Pretty sure GGG have confirmed in the past that the game was balanced around instant logout, at least in HC. Raycheetah would surely remember.

Pause is quicker and easier without macros. It's entirely logical to assume that it would be used more to escape harder content, and hence they might "balance" such content by assuming everyone escapes and restarts it and so it's safe to make it much, much harder.

THat's not to say it's not also a simpler change to code, nor indeed a welcome change. Just that it may have a downside and judging that is based on long experience.

Sorry to disappoint you but I'm also around since more than a decade. Doesn't seem like you've done your homework in the long time to study GGG's obvious patterns, cause there's never been an instance of a big rebalance caused by a very tiny QoL.
They just add something niche into the game as it's easy QoL content since it's just a back port of PoE2. Little work is required but it's something simple that makes many players happy.

If anything they don't care about anything prior late game in terms of changes, and even endgame adjustments are really rare.

But I guess you wouldn't know cause you don't really dip far into the game to actually really notice actual rebalance changes.

Instant logout exists cause people like to cheese avoid their deaths in HC.
The problem with HC is that the game simply isn't balanced around it, at least not anymore.

They've abandoned this mode long ago after they've abandoned having different leagues for SC and HC. It simply remains as a option for those who want to play HC for whatever reason they do, and as a option to make races more interesting.

People were dooming during the introduction of stash tab affinities and quick storing of items some people equate friction and making everything annoying with enjoyment and want the rest of us normal people to feel the same

Sure buddy. They will waste hundereds if not thousands of workhours to rebalance entire PoE around this tiny QoL when they barely have time to do PROPER work on both of their existing games.
