Spend $30 this "expansion", no questions asked.

So you reckon quuality brings in the money? :P

(the entitlement)

There are many opportunities to pull people up on a sense of entitlement. I'm not sure commenting on them expecting others to honour promises they have made is a shining example, however...

I've an idea. How about GGG implement a mandatory subscription for a subset of accounts. Perhaps those named "Kopogero" and with discriminators between 0634 and 0636?

Had GGG introduced such a subscription from the start, I never would've considered any of the multiple $480 supporter packs I have purchased. I'm still not convinced OP quite understands the severity of the rug pull they are encouraging GGG to consider undertaking.

I did some quick math, and if GGG 1) introduced a $15 / month subscription, and, 2) issued one complimentary month of an active subscription per $15 of prior support, I believe I would not be charged for more than two decades - and I'm far from one of the biggest spenders in the community. Meanwhile, ole Kopogero would start getting charged inside of a year.

The contemptuous attitude of bemoaning the lack of generosity from those who have spent orders of magnitude more than they have themselves is really starting to grate. It's not just the idea itself - but all of the snide comments since then about other people "proving [their] point."

Kopogero - earlier in the thread, I challenged you to buy 3 copies of the $480 "Liberator of Wraeclast" supporter pack if you are as concerned about GGG's finances as you proclaim. Since then I've not seen you either take me up on this, nor respond to my suggestion. So I hereby restate the challenge now: if you deem our prior spending insufficient, then match it yourself prior to calling us out for not giving enough. As an aside, if you bit the bullet you wouldn't be matching my spending - you'd just be jumping up to the same number of digits and your position would be slightly less hypocritical. The double standard would still exist... it just wouldn't be as severe.

The sad thing is, if GGG did take you up on your advice, it wouldn't improve their financial situation. We wouldn't start paying a monthly subscription. We'd merely uninstall the game, review bomb it on Steam, and move on with our lives. It would be too drastic and fundamental a change to GGG's relationship with us for there to ever be any coming back from it.

If GGG wants PoE1 to stick around and be relevant, they better put out some quality content. And quality content always brings in the money.

Nah man, you should be throwing money at GGG and be happy when you get any scraps from the PoE Two table!
GGG gets my money when they create things I want, and doesn't get my money when they make things I don't want. If they put in any form of recurrent cost that is a requirement for me to play, they get nothing, ever.

It's amazing how quickly insults at Kopogero's expense get removed relative to others.

Needless to say, by his own words in this thread he has spend a grand total of just over $100 on the game, and thinks his opinion is relevant to what makes PoE players give GGG money.

It's fine to spend little or nothing on the game, and it's fine to spend lots on the game, but it's not fine to spend little or nothing on the game and pretend GGG should care about your opinion regarding monetization. From this thread alone, there's been a grand total of zero people who agree with the idea posited, including many that have spent many, many, MANY times more money than Kopogero has. If his idea was taken and installed into the game today, there would be a gain of $15 from Kopogero, and a loss of every other person that has replied in the thread. Batting in the 1000s there bud.

TLDR of this thread: Others should be forced to spend money on this game so I can continue to play for free.
And he thinks others are "entitled".

I wouldn't even bet on that to be honest, this is already quite hypothetical :D
If you're hyped for 3.26 and will play it until at least June 22nd support the company with a minimum of $30 and I explained why now it's a better time than through the last 5+ years to do that.

The support is your investment on your "expectations" for 3.27 and beyond. Choose not to support for X reasons and hope others like me who made a different choice will be sufficient the game to deliver whatever you're waiting or hoping from GGG or PoE before you'll do the same.

A minimum of $14.99-19.99 per league for access makes it quite simple and straightforward, especially when hosting or joining private leagues (and other events) will be included.

As previously discussed in this thread extensively, many of us have spent thousands of euros on the game within the context of GGG expressly promising us all future updates would be available to us, in full, free of charge. That has been the understanding of their product they have expressly cultivated. So if this is the belief you wish to put forward, I suggest a simple compromise.

Going forwards, all challenge leagues have the subscription you so ardently cling to, fecklessly disregarding the inevitable consequences on the playerbase & game's review score as you may be. But... - and, wait for it, this is where it gets good - all prior purchases are refunded in full.

How's that sound?! GGG gets the subscription you are attempting to force upon them, and none of their customers have legitimate grounds for feeling like GGG got them with a rug pull.

Is "genius" too strong a word? I think not...

Oh so you finally changed from "you should blidnly throw money at GGG before even checking out anything" to "if you like the game and new update, support the company"?

Seems like we did great job
