Time to Call Chris Back in

"
GGG is falling apart without him. Bad decision after Bad decision from leadership now calls for Chris's return

I'm confused. Wasn't Chris the one pushing for the failed "vision" thing that f'ed up everything?. Why would you want him and his "vision" back?.

Because at least Chris was pushing it in PoE (later Ruthless) giving us new leagues. Now vision is pushed in PoE Two, leaving PoE w/o anything for close to a year.

"Grass is greener syndrome".

People didn't know the upsides of having Chris here until a certain someone took the wheel. Now, PoE1 gets the short stick no matter where we turn, if it gets a stick at all. At least Chris had a vision and cared for PoE1, that is more than we can say about the current state of affairs.
Ah yes, Chris visionary who’d already peaced out in all but name while PoE1 was still delivering banger leagues. Showed up for the intro phrase, then vanished back into the void.

Let’s not kid ourselves, he didn’t just leave mid-project, he dipped right when the company was expanding, when experienced leadership was needed the most.
Took the money and walked, and honestly? Smart move. But let’s not spin it like some noble sacrifice or a move to abandon the players or game.

He built a great product and took the kind of deal anyone his age would, to enjoy the second half of life in peace, without the 24/7 work grind.

And this fairytale that everything would’ve been sunshine and on schedule if he’d stayed? Come on. Delays would’ve happened regardless, not from lack of knowledge or experience, but because leading two massive projects comes with brutal pressure and an unavoidable wall of unknowns. That’s the same mountain the current leadership is climbing.

And let’s not forget, they’re based in New Zealand. So the classic "just hire more staff" take ignores how tough that actually is with their local work regulations and talent pool.

At the end of the day? That’s just the flavor of reality we’re all chewing on now.
No need for a daily tantrum or doomer conspiracy that PoE1 'suffers' only because of him or PoE2, and is dying all because of all the 'sudden' changes.
The vision is part of why the games good guys and it gets beaten to death by people who don't get it as it is, yes its responsible for many bad things, its also responsible for many good things its why its important to have a staff with diverse views on a topic so you can hash it out to get to a good solution.

Nor do I think Chris left when it was financially prudent to do so I genuinely think he just quit when he'd had enough, being on the receiving end of abuse constantly is extremely tiring and for all of those that never have to experience it you only do so because you have to.

That being said he coulda just quit reading shit, but equally its an important part of the job so it needs doing. My point is not everyone can just deal with it less but in his shoes i'd have quit too. (not saying its just this just that if you stack enough negatives together vs an empty positives column most people will walk)

all that aside it doesn't change that he was clearly an excellent project manager and they could absolutely use his skills now.
